Bought couple of items from Freecultr from the last sale. This time they sent one item that was defective. The other was also not good quality (cloth and fit not good. Stitching just acceptable), not even for the price. Even then decided to keep the cheaper one and return the other costlier one, as it was unusable.

And I was in for a rude shock – the company does NOT provide refund. They only give store credits and that too minus shipping charges! And this even for defective and substandard products that they have sent. Whatever discount you had earlier lapses completely.

I do generally go thru the return policies before making purchases. And I do not recall such clauses mentioned. Its possible that the company is changing its policies at will. Anyway, whatever the policy, paying for defective products, which is their mistake is outright fraud. Till date, not matter what policy wording they have, sites have gone over them and either refunded or replaced the products that I have received (damaged/defective/etc). This includes sites with poor reputation like Shopclues. So my online shopping experience with Freecultr is the worst till date. They have ZERO regard for the customer and will hide behind changing policies that are entirely worded in their favour.

Now the best part – the store credits have a life of only 6 months, which is again atrocious. In short they get to use your money for 6 months without interest and then get to keep it for free. And secondly, they have nothing on their site that I like or want and whats more the prices are now double or more. So if I have to use my credits I have to fall deeper into their trap by paying an equal or more amount EXTRA plus loss of previous shipping charges, plus new shipping charges, and this for an item that I don’t want, along with the risk of receiving another defective item, and repeating the whole story.

Now isn’t this a really cool way to make money by sending defective products?

I’m not ready to let this go, but not totally sure how I can go about getting my money back. And I absolutely do NOT want to risk placing another order by paying more money. But I’m unsure of what I can do besides going to a consumer court to get my money back from this fraud company. In the very least, I’m going to make sure I publicize by story and make them loose way more money then what they have gained by defrauding me.

Before anybody places any more orders with them, remember their policies are the MOST customer unfriendly in the business. You may get acceptable products once or twice, but the next time you may loose way more than what you gained from any previous discounts, if you have a similar experience. In any case, they do not make very good quality garments. They are at best just ok for the price, when bought from a sale.

And suggestions/advice from Dimers more than welcome.

To make it brief – the amount was finally refunded, which I appreciate (ORDER #1231729)

However, Freecutr really needs to rethink its return policy. Forcing acceptance of store credits (with limited validity) and charging for shipping (that too when product is defective) is going to be a huge disincentive for future purchases. Refund as store credits also forces one to buy undesired items at much higher prices without even the original discount.

I ordered a t-shirt from freecultr. Order no. 1236708. I did not like the material of the t-shirt, so I returned it. But freecultr is not refunding my money to my bank account. This is really not a good business policy.

Despite this fact, I recommended freecultr to two of my friends and they have ordered t-shirts from freecultr and liked the products. But now I’m thinking of not recommending it to anyone. All websites refund the full amount within a few days when you return a product.* If freecultr continue to keep policies like this, you may slowly lose your customers*. What’s more outrageous is, the store credit is valid only for 6 months! It’s my money, I’ve returned the product to you, you should immediately refund it to my bank account.
