Funbook , Caught My hands on it! edit delete delete with repost warning

Hey Desidimers this is My Complete review on the Lately Launched Micromax Funbook @6499
I bought it the day after its release on 7th of April i think through nCarry and it was shipped within Two days of my order was placed.
It was a wonderful moment when i got the Tablet in my hands, It Was just fit, Neither too heavy nor too light, slim which made it more appealing, and its great built quality just made it an awesome device for me.
But within A Couple of Days I Started observing some Bugs going around it

So according to my observations this is the review :

-BUILT QUALITY
The Tablet’s extremely well built with a Volume rocker and a Screen Lock button on one side and the other side being just plain. The weight of the tablet would be just 200-300 Grams and feels light in Hand also due to its Less thickness. At The back, you get a Speaker which is not put at a Convenient Location because every time i put the tablet down with A Song Playing, the sound gets Burred as the speaker is DisClosed. Also, You get a VGA Camera with just Fair quality at the front Black Frame and on the down Side of the tabley a Charging port, USB Port, HDMI port and A Memory Card Slot.

-TOUCH
Funbook is equipped with Capacitive Touch Screen which really proves to be a Great one in capacitive field , A slight wave of a finger works on it proving the touchscreen to be a Great one. By the way, there are some lags in the touchscreen during the charging of the device, I have explained the whole problem in the disadvantages section further. But overall the touchscreen is really responsive.

-DISPLAY
We Can’t expect AMOLED or LCD high End display from such a cheap device, All I just can say is that its PPI would be around 130 , it has 800*480 Pixels of Resolution in its 7" Screen. Colors seem bright when we switch brightness to the highest and quality too is Great.

-ANDROID UI
As we already know the device comes with Android version 4.0 i.e. Ice-Cream Sandwich , we get a Bunch of latest Widgets ,Totally changed Settings section, A different browser, UI Animation Effects in it and a lot more with this latest Android version. Talking about live wallpapers i really liked the See Floor one, with Live fishes and an Insane Water effect when you touch the device. Widgets are really Impressive especially the Bookmarks and Email widget.

-CAMERA
Funbook has a VGA i.e. Digital Camera with an Image resolution of 640*360 Pixels , Which is fair enough and proves to be useful while video chatting with Skype.

-PROCESSOR/PERFORMANCE
The Tablet has a 1.2Ghz Processor built in with MALI-400 OpenGL Graphic Chipset powerful as much as Samsung Galaxy S2. This was in terms of theory, Practically using, the device never hangs but at times really gets messed up due to great Animation effects of v4.0 especially using the Browser. I saw no glitches in the performance while playing games like the Angry birds and even NFS Hotpursuit.

-GAMING PERFORMANCE/SOUND
I am a Game Lover, So i insatalled around 2-3 Dozen of games on the tablet including Runner games, Angry birds series, GLU games n all. I saw no lags while playing games as the device was able to cope with the games with its high end 1.2Ghz Processor. But since it has 262k Colors, i was not able to play Gameloft Games, but please dont be Sad because rooting the device and installing Chainfire 3D would surely help you in this case. Sound of the device is also just good, Not very Impressive but just good, Quality is upto the mark and loudness is Fair.

-BENCHMARK
I Installed and ran Quadrant Benchamrk and all things went smooth, I Was Able to Get a Score of 1850! Just egual to DEFY with PoverVR Graphics!
This Shows that Funbook really has guts which is due to its 1.2Ghz Processor.

-BATTERY LIFE
Battery Life is Fair and satisfying. I am able to use it for 3-4 Hours at dim brightness without any sound playing, Most times while browsing.

-MAJOR DISADVANTAGE WHILE CHARGING
Everything Goes smooth in the device till it is put to charging, It feels like a Ghost Operates it during charging, You will touch at one point and it will go to another point, You will not be able to switch it off and touch will not work 60% times.. But dont worry all these problem flush out as soon as we pluch the charger out from its port..

-RATING
Performance : 7/10
Touch : 9/10
Display : 7/10
Sound : 8/10
Gaming : 7.5/10

Battery Life is a nominal one, just 3-4 Hours at the lowest brightness without any sound playing..

I want to know one thing.
Display of my tablet brightness is too high even using different applications of brightness still it is not decreasing .How to change brightness display And please give me few good applications link,sometimes touch is not recognizing & am using 32 gb card& 8 gb kingston cards ,till today 3 times it is automatically reset ed,.How to avoid this.

To add some negatives which I experienced while using the tab:
– The performance drops become apparent while surfing content loaded sites. Must say it becomes laggy at times. Mobile optimsed websites work great through. Try firefox – it gives better browsing experience than the stock android browser.
– Mayb its just me but I find wakeup time from sleep mode slightly annoying. Takes around 2-3 seconds before the screen wakes up.
– Battery life I could get while watching video with headphones on was around 3.5 hrs (with w-fi on). It drops to around 2.5-3 hrs using loudspeaker.
– It does not have Bluetooth and no GPS but Supports pen drive, which is something to cheer about
– There is some distortion in the speaker at the loudest sound setting.
– The display is not terribly disappointing considering the price point. (Users of Galaxy Y would appreciate my point)
– Wifi connection gets lost as soon as it enters the sleep mode. Hence no notifications and alerts in sleep mode.
– Isn’t a great multitasker, open 3-4 apps and you will see the reboot screen soon

Overall, my rating on
Performance front – 6/10
Ease of use – 8/10
VFM – 10/10

Same thing happens with, the only solution i have right now is to restart the tablet

here reset ed means everything is erased &restarted.

my funbook it hanged its not moving further from the micromax logo when i switch it on….!!!

Now there are much better Tablets for that Price.
