Koovs Cashback Scheme - Is it worth?

I have recently purchased 16 GB USB flash drive from Koovs for Rs. 820. The same is available from several other sites like letsbuy.com etc and the price is similar before applying any coupon.

I bought this from Koovs because of the 25% cash back scheme. I plan to use the cash back on a micro sd card once the flash card is delivered. (Yes, this product cost is 4 times more than the cash back).

After 10 days, I have received the original product. I am not so happy with the shipping time but it is not the worst part. Now, I want to buy another product to redeem my cash back. It should be very simple, right? Not that easy, I found out.

See, most of products in Koovs doesn’t fall under this scheme. If you open a product description page, they put this small note below the product image that says “Note: Promocode will not be applicable on this product.”.

If you see this note then your cash back coupon is not applicable. It should be okay if this note is mentioned for few products but guess what, it is damn too difficult to find a product that doesn’t have this note.

So, in reality, Koovs cash back scheme is not real cash back in any meaningful way, it is not even store credit as it is not applicable on 90% of the products. I would say it is basically a scam, very much Indian way of doing business.

If you are attracted to this offer, please do your homework. Don’t get surprised like me later.

i dont believe in cash back offer after u have paid fr smthng..give me d best price wich i need to pay in one go ..without moving around u fr next ppurchase or wait for cash back to b credited into the account

Your call charges to cc is above your cash back amount. I loose 500 for 400 cash back amount, to call cc 2 months

@mraj146 – Thanks for echoing similar feelings towards Koovs. This was my first experience and I will not succumb to such silly schemes/promotions in the future.

@tusharsethi9… – I agree with you, cash back is always an inferior promotion to instant discounts. But I see in different threads that people are actively advertising about the cash back and I wanted to share my story so that people can take an educated decision rather than falling into a trap.
