This thread could read as a sequel of my previous thread : http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...

So on 26th Feb 2014 my SanDisk 16Gb ultra micro sd card all of sudden started behaving weird.. first it was suddenly not detected by the phone and after restarting the phone it got detected but the write speed went too low… 700KB or less…

I backed up my data… n called Sandisk customer care… They have a long IVR process in which they give some useful information in English as well as Hindi… But we can’t skip any of those n have to listen to both… https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_confused.gif

So after 5 mins or so i get connected to a rep who after taking my details asks where i bought it from… I told him that it was from pepperfy (coz i have a receipt for my another Sandisk Ultra from them).

I gave him the serial number at the back of the card which he verified… btw they have an option to send a pic of the card from both sides in case u cant read those tiny numbers….

Now he gave me a complaint number and sends a mail with a link of CNET for downloading a test utility… and asks to send the screenshot of the result as a reply to that mail…

I download the utility n it also gives the results similar to one which i told the rep on the phone…

After this test … card totally dies n can’t even be formatted anymore(not an issue as i have the backup).. n i guess thats not coz of the utility… https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

So i mail the screenshot but dont receive a reply for an hour or so.. I called them again… the phone got disconnected twice… don’t know if it was a network issue….

I gave the rep the complaint number and he check the mail i have sent as reply… and after talking to his seniors agrees for a RMA… he gives 2 options… either to send the card by courier to them n then they’ll send back a new one or get it replaced from their service center in New Delhi… they dont have a service center i Gurgaon… I chose the latter..

He asks when did i buy this card.. i say almost 1 year back n he says he is taking a back date of 26 Feb 2013 as date of purchase… None of the rep ever asked for a receipt(serial number takes care of everything)

He mails the RMA details asking to take printout or the SMS for the RMA… He also checks the inventory of the service center n informs that they have the card in stock for immediate replacement…

He also informs that anyone can take the RMA slip or i can forward the SMS to anyone and ask him/her to get the non-functional card replaced…

Next day i visit their service center and tell the guard that i am there for a RMA.. he directs me to a counter.. where a lady after checking my name n RMA slip asks me to fill a form with my details n takes in writing that the card has been replaced over the counter… then she gives me a new card within 5 minutes…

So overall it was a Good experience…

Another update – January 2015…

So in November 2014 once again my Sandisk Class 10 16GB ultra micro sd card got fried( in less than a year after replacement) luckily I was able to save the data… But I was busy so bought a new 32 GB Class 10 Transcend micro sd card this time…

Finally in January 2015 I got some time and Since i knew the procedure for RMA I called them and gave them the previous RMA No. for pulling up my details… told them the issue… gave the card’s serial number and RMA was approved, I decided to collect the replacement myself from Nehru Place… Now the best part… They said since they don’t have 16 GB Class 10 in stock they will give me 32 GB instead and that’s exactly what happened… RMA was complete in less than 10 mins and I got 32 Class 10 card instead of 16 GB…. SanDisk rocks in customer service…
