Got 2, and gonna gift them both A brief review based on my experience!
Packaging (4/5): Nice fancy box! Opening was simple too. Easy to pack the headphone back too. Imported on Jan 2014 & new in box, unopened.
Accessories(0/5): None, Didn’t get even a case!
Build Quality(4/5): Headphone looks strong , even cables being flat they last really long. Plastic on the headphone looks strong enough for daily use. Pretty cool design too
Fit & Isolation(4.5/5): Super comfy! The headphone cushions are like pillows in my head. Loved to see how comfortable these are. Can easily listen to over 4 hours straight. Isolation’s good too if we adjust the length of headphone correctly
Sound quality(3.5/5): Warm+Sweet type signature. Volume levels are moderate. Soundstage is pretty good, different frequencies can be felt easily. Mids especially vocals are highlighted in a nice way. Highs are very smooth and controlled at even high volumes. Lows/bass is not overwhelming but has nice controlled & punchy bass. For those who expect full bass, this isn’t it for you! This is perfect for rock/metal listeners as all the instruments gets highlighted without having one overpowering the other. As well as classical/bollywood listeners might like this too. For Hiphop/rap or those who love boom boom in the head, better choose another!
Overall this is a pretty nice buy even at 1999 because all the aspects are pretty good, but better headphones available at this range. Headphone looks to last easily 2-3 years. At 358 this is bang-for-the-buck
Loved how professional and articulate the reviews are
Nice reviews dude… Karma added..:-D
Great reviews hitme987. Love the pics.
Thanks for the appreciation guys.. I’m getting idance sedj 750, idance funky 400 as well as idance xb600 tomorrow. Will add reviews for those too
brillian !
kg
good professional reviews
thanks
I bought this philips oneil cruz last year from the market for Rs. 1500 and tbh they are pretty average. Sound is low when I use them with my mobile and decent when used on laptop. Even sound quality isnt impressive at all. I bought them for Rs. 1500 so I can say they are not vfm for me. At Rs. 350 they can be bought. Now I have sony mdr v55 and they have very good sound quality.
Can someone suggest a good wired headset/earphone with mic for MOTO G?? If possible, please provide otions other than in ear earphones.
Guess m late to the party .. but anyways here is my experience …!
Got this yesterday …
First of all the build quality amazed me..its pretty rugged ..can be used regularly…+ flat cable hence tangle free
sound : Didn’t get much time to play with it… just connected once with my Numark 500fx…dayumm it produces way better MIDI output than Behringer hp3000 … This can be easily used as monitoring headphone …
only cons which I felt is the cord length ..could have been a little more …
A killer deal for this price
@ravi, yes, Pretty low volume, you might need a good mp3 player to extract the best out of this. Preferably an amp to boost the frequencies to your liking
@axxo, wow I knew this is a beast at mids when I first listened to this but didn’t thought it could beat a high end like Behringer hp3000. Though certainly not mid-centric the bass thumping is amazing too, wish it wasn’t white, I use headphones a lot and don’t like it dirty, I’m gifting it to someone

i wish the cord length was a bit longer
it could have easily replaced my hp3000
p.s:Armin Van Buuren’s full tracklist (2014 tomorrowland) downloaded
time to pump up the bass

on a lighter note:
old but still amazin <3
Can’t believe I actually am liking Philips Oneil Cruz On-the-ear Headset over iDance SeDJ 700 & iDance Funky 400. They’re both like 3x MRP and Philips blow them out of the water in terms of Sound Quality. Not getting much free time but I’ll try to update reviews of iDance SeDJ 700, iDance Funky 400 & iDance EB-X206 Headset once I have some time
Skullcandy S2TTDY033 & Philips Oneil both sound absolutely like a beast after 70 hours burn-in. Bass especially are amazing in both, philips being so controlled with nice thumping and skullcandy going over the moon with epic air
Weird thing is that I expected to keep iDance EB-X206 & iDance SeDJ 700 and give Skullcandy S2TTDY033 & Philips Oneil to friends at first but it totally got reversed now.
@axxo, nice one! Old is gold indeed, most of the music I listen to is < 2000 and they’re amazing!

Bought @ 999
Pics:
Packaging(4.5/5): Pretty looking! Easy to unpack & moreover had 2-3 layers so no possible damage on transport too.
Accessories(5/5): IEM is given in a plasic case and wrapped circular around the rubber body just like Apple Earpods. Makes it very handy and convenient to carry. Had 4 Sized Single Flange eartips which is one size more than typical IEM flange packaging making the users to choose their perfect fit easily. The 3 button mic is icing on the cake!
Build Quality(5/5) : Never saw any IEM this rigid, awesome looking in color and with sweet chocolate smell. Cable is very strong and the golden braided look is a great addition. 3.5mm Jack is of golden metal build and the build is an inch longer than typical builds. Braided cable runs till the Mic which then splits into typical Y-shaped cable but not braided, wish they’d have kept a full braided cable but still great on the whole! The earphone housing made of metal and the silver mesh inside the earpiece protects the headphone driver from sweat, cold and heat! So, basically this can also be used for heavy duty workouts too
Fit & isolation(5/5) : Flat rounded housing blocks a lot of ambient noise and the multiple sizes makes it easy to get a good fit. The shape of the housing & the straight design makes it more comfortable than most In ears. An IEM can never be more perfect in terms of this!
Sound quality(4.5/5): Warm+Sweet Signature. A typical V-Shaped Signature. Volume levels are a bit more than usual IEM’s and it can be driven easily with even low powered sources. Highs are so crisp, the sparkle & detailing are just great, beats most WS signatured IEM’s in this aspect handsdown! Airyness not much in quantity, but in quality its good enough. Instrument seperation is just amazing. I can hear right upto every beat in Snares, Cymbals and bass drums just perfect! It doesn’t look forward or laid-back , sense of image in front of speaker is perfect. Lows is very much controlled & deep but not in big quantity still is good enough. Mid bass hump is punchy and impact is great making this segment really fun to hear! Mids just like most WS typed IEMs lacks sweetness & highs overtake a bit, still it performs much better than most in this category.
Value(5/5): I don’t really understand how they’re selling this for 999, but in my opinion this can really beat headphones/IEM upto 4k easily! I’ve heard Sony XBA-4, VSonic GR07, Sony MH1C, Brainwavz M3 which are of the same signature and this really does come pretty close to match every one of them(owns XBA-4,MH1C & M3) and they cost easily 2-5x Pistons cost!I still haven’t burned it, and it sounds like a beast. Since its not really bass heavy it can be used with all genres. Though Rock/metal fans will love this like anything!
In short, Go grab them if you’re looking for a new definition, excellent clarity and sense in your music and want to truly enjoy it at a very reasonable price ! Piston definitely is a fun packed Signature and mostly will satisfy every one except those who want ONLY bass with no other detailing! Its totally bang-for-the-buck in each and every category & my best purchase till date in case of IEM’s
Another great review !

BTW, a small note for those who already got skullcandy s2ttdy033.
Buy piston if you are not satisfied with the detailing or if you need more refined details, Lesser but more controlled bass(quality of bass in piston is much more awesome than in Skullcandy), want better overall clarity, want better build quality and more comfort plus better isolated fit.

A brief review on my experience :
Packaging(4/5): Good enough, sturdy and looks good on the eye. Also, its not a returned/old stock. Brand new, unopened & Imported Aug 2014
Accessories(3/5): 2 sets of S,L Flanges(M already on headphone), a cotton pouch & manual. Expected more at this price(maybe another sized single flange or double/triple flange).
Build Quality(2/5): Poor, could be much better. The plastic wiring looks delicate and care must be taken inorder to be durable! Silver braided cables are coming even at 20$ these days & they look much more sturdy. I seriously don’t recommend using the given pouch to carry it. Better buy a Clamshell case
Fit & isolation(2/5): This might be the downside of this headset, because there aren’t much sizes provided, its quite hard to get a good enough fit. Those who have trouble fitting this, try with other single flanges(or maybe double/triple as their taste). I had a pair of Sony Hybrid eartips(S size) which gave me perfect fit and isolation. You can get them at ebay.com at pretty cheap prices(1-3$)
Sound quality(4/5): Pretty good, full bass type signature, what amazed me more is how loud this headphone is. I had to decrease -15 dB from my Sansa Clipzip compared to my Meelectronics A161P. Soundstage is decent. Highs are smooth and feels pretty amazing when combined with the punchy lows/bass. Mids can be better, mostly lows/bass overpowers these but it is expected from this signature. Lows/Bass is extra ordinary, those who listen to Hiphop/rap will love this one like anything. Though this experience could become totally opposite & painful if the fit isn’t good enough, although its universal to all bass oriented IEM’s.
Value for price : 4.5/5 at 599 but at 3k much better options!
In brief at 599, its a steal really! Mic working fine enough & overall I feel its a worthy purchase on a whole!
