This is in regards to my order with Snapdeal – 1438998225, a Canon 600D. The item has been dispatched by the seller on the 21st Nov, full marks to him, and the receipt has been acknowledged by the Kanpur branch, Delhivery. The item is supposed to take route to the Delhi hub and subsequently to Chennai hub for delivery. But the status of the item has not changed since the 21st and it still shows item is at Kanpur. After repeated calls over the last few days to Delhivery I finally learnt that the item was dispatched from Kanpur to Delhi hub on the 21st, but apparently not reached Delhi as of today – which makes it 5 full days of transit. Makes me think the item is missing?
I called the Snapdeal customer care yesterday to lodge a complaint. The complaint has been taken and assurance was given that it will be delivered by today (27th) evening. Delivery of a missing item, I don’t know how! I also wanted to check what the refund policy is, for which the Customer care executive replied that he cannot cancel the order while the item was in transit (fair enough?!) and can cancel only if I return the item (return back the item which is lost in transit, which I haven’t even received in the first place!!). Makes me wonder how!
Now since the item is a camera, a delicate item to be handled with care, especially the SLRs, I am not sure what handling the item is receiving, makes me wonder if I should accept the item in the first place.
I called Delhivery and Snapdeal today and got their standard reply “Wait for 48 hours”. I have heard the same reply starting Monday and I’m sure they wouldn’t change their answer even after 48 days!
I got pissed today and posed on their official facebook page hoping some sense would prevail on a social networking site where everyone would see the obvious.
A reason to move on to ecommerce sites like Flipkart which has better logistics? Only time will tell!
