Trek 16 gb pen drive review
Thought of posting this here, not a detailed review, but posting sufficient info that should help you decide on buying it or not
the main thread for this topic is
http://www.desidime.com/forums/hot-deals-online...
The speeds mentioned in the topic are nowhere close to what you can get in reality (the title claims 480mbps, whereas someone concluded that it should be around 50mbps, both were wrong
Size-
extremely small like the hp v155 (http://www.homeshop18.com/hp-v155-8gb-pendrive/...)
Copy speeds (file used to test was a 240 mb odd avi file)
from usb 2.0 port
6mbps write (copying to pen drive)
15-16mbps read (copying from pen drive)
from usb 3.0 port
7mbps write (copying to pen drive)
16mbps read (copying from pen drive)

Informative
Thanks for the honest insight bro
Thanks for the info. After using Sandisk and the crappy build quality and not so great read/ writes, I’m going back to Transcend only. Waiting for a good deal on Transcend 700 / 760 having USB 3.0. Hope something comes along soon. I’m willing to spend more for better speeds and quality.
thanks to all for voting up and giving karma for the post.
Yes, even I feel as the size increases, we must aim for usb 3.0 , imagine copying 30gb of data at 7mbps
true said, i also bought trek 8gb seeing that post. People sometimes misguide others too.
Thnx 4 ur personal review oli bro…very useful
not impressive ..best pen drive that I have used so far is..Corsair ..31 MB/s of Read and 11 MB/s of Write speed is what I get on average..
Exactly the same story with my kingmax 8 gb pen drive write speed on pen drive is 5-6 mbps with gigabyte usb*3 faster port motherboard and read speed is around 30-50 mbps. But no regret as i have purchased my kingmax pd in just 100rs . While my old kingston 2 gb pen drive gives me 59 mbps write speed and 70-150 mbps read speed. In this way OLD IS GOLD , sandisk cruzer 16 gb is also pathetic.
hi nice hands!
