The best specification in indian mobile industry……..

Points to be noted:

1. Phone is not yet launch. I’m eagerly waiting for its launch! Will be launched in mid March.
2. The website does not seem to be appropriate as the contact us number looks like a cell phone number.
3. There is no mention whether the product will be shipped from where, which country? If China, there is no mention of Customs or Octroi charges.

specs of Umi X2 is better in all respect. What you need to check out is the after sales service. Umi haven’t mentioned their service center locations. That’s the only thing to watch out. so have to wait for few more days, get across every possible details and complete reviews.

Few suggestions you should look once before buying Umi X2.

Thing is that the chipset is good I know but not that good to push 1080p screen. This combination would result in.
1. Significantly Less Battery life.
2. Less gaming capabilities.
3. Heating Problems (even though MTK6589 is cool pushing so much pixels will cause the GPU to heat ).
4. Anyways our eyes can’t even distinguish above 300 PPI so for our eyes 720p on a 5 inch screen is equivalent to 1080p on a 5 inch screen.
5. It is a china phone after all, can’t trust without using.
6. Almost no service centres in India, except one or two.
7. No userbase, hence no Custom Roms, no Rooting methods and no other user hacks would be available.

Other Things:-
1. RAM is good 2GB, but at this price seems they used the cheapest one, no idea from what company and hence no real reliability.

2. Inbuilt storage is good, 32GB but it would be a actually 32GB SD card mounted inside the phone, that is Storage would be in 2 parts Real Internal Storage and Mounted SD Storage and apps that cannot be installed in the card would not install in that 32GB storage otherwise it will go in the real internal storage which would not be more than 1GB at this price.

Also The domain http://www.umimob...in was created/purchased on 06th Feb, 2013. The site doesn’t look professional in any terms. I would advise to think twice before you make payment of 14K Rs.

My Conclusion : Do not buy this phone , even with good hardware the combination is not good enough and many compromises are done to reduce price. So please don’t try if you are buying this against the Canvas HD. I would still recommend going for Canvas HD as combination is a lot better than this phone.

This phone could give you the specs to boast about but in the long run, it would not give the best experience, that part is still left for 30k phones. Canvas HD is still the best in this range.

to your 1 2 and 3 points it is not a chipset its a soc system on chip with cpu gpu and other units like wifi bluetooth and gps integrated on the same silicon dye for cpu… the powervr graphics is awesome is the same which is rumored to b used in the samsung s4 (ofc here in the single version avatar vs the 3 core in the s4) it can easily push 4k resolution and 1080p is dust compared 2 it….

the tdp is there for a reason and thats 2 keep heat down. that and the fact that its cortex a7 with in order architecture should also help. also the gpu and cpu in soc are in different parts of the dye and traditionally cpu design allocate the resources using a highly effecient algorithm based on their usage .. the only point of concern is proper ventilation but then that aint present on any other phone either wat with them wanting 2 win beauty pageants

our eyes cant differentiate but photos (by dslr) can damn well do(at 100 % zoom) and at 440 ppi the scripts of most languages appear damn near real or as real as on paper ….. the war of specs is an exciting albeit dumb one … atleast u can boast about it cant u ?

u have no idea abt china do u …. every damn phone has somethin made from china man…. chinese phones are awesome and they are levelling up in terms of build quality and finish and these ones like xiaomi are gonna b a hit in the home country…. this is far better than micromax ….
forget roms and roots not wat an average user would do…

now rams have for the past year fallen tragically so much so thant many companies have shut down due to losses incurred …
it is only in jan that nand prices have just started 2 inch up … 2gb ram aint gonna cost so much … over 1 gb … micromax just wants 2 keep a larger profit margin…( u can take a guess of samsung and then apple in that order and magnitude)

internal memory yes have read somewhere abt 32 gb sd card being used as internal memory …slower than nand and slower access times 2 but the flash i think could b embedded as the primary memory …. shouldnt affect ur ability 2 install apps or download them… but apps will load slower on2 the ram though 2gb ram should offset it … and ram might have lower latencies but should not be worser than what u get on ur micromax a116

now all that it comes to is whether it has service centres? does it even have 1 ?
if u can take the risk then u might b rewarded …

if there are service centres then it should b no problem go for it blind eyed…. that is my opinion…

compared 2 sony xperia z or htc butterfly this costs a pittance…
