Unbelievably poor service!

I had placed 2 orders (Order nos. 1049712 & 1050010) on the Planet Sports Online website, on 24th May ’13.
Both the orders were prepaid and everytime I went to check my account on the PlanetSports website, the status shown was “Ready for Shipping”.
After almost a week with no additional information on my order, I decided to call the customer support num 180030001016 and I was told that both the orders have been cancelled as the Pin code was not serviceable.

I was shocked on hearing this and told the representative that I did not get any email/text notifying me about this to which she replied that it had been sent earlier. On not finding any email, I asked her to send me the cancellation email (she did send me immediately but only for 1 of the orders). I was then told that the refund process will take another 7-10 business days.
The fact that surprises me is that if you are cancelling the order as the Pincode is not serviceable, should you not call the customer and get an alternative solution? What is the use of collecting all the information (email address, mobile number, landline number, address etc.) if you are not going to use this technology? If called, I could have given another address of mine and then it could have been checked whether the area was serviceable or not. Also, it took almost 1 week to find out that the area was not serviceable and it wasn’t even informed to the customer. This was the most ridiculous service I had ever got. If this is how their customer service functions, I don’t think I will hear about their site in the near future as they won’t survive the competition.
I have been a regular online shopper and review writer having transacted with online sites like Myntra, Bestylish, Inkfruit, Flipkart, Snapdeal, ebay etc. and their proactiveness and service is of the highest quality.

All in all, I want to say that I was most disappointed with the service of Planet Sports Online and will not be returning to their site. Maybe I should have consulted some online forums before placing any order. It was then that I decided that I will ensure that future users do not have to go through a similar ordeal and hence proceeded to write this review.
I sincerely hope that they can process the refund in much faster fashion than they did in finding out the serviceability of my area in both my orders. Unbelievably poor service!
