Velbon, Slik, et al make lousy tripods at the lower end of the range. They are as stable as a 100 yr old with acute cerebral epilepsy. These tripods are guaranteed to ruin your shots instead of improving them since they are very rickety, have loose joints and are unstable – so much so that they can topple in moderate wind taking your camera along with it. Further, the center column support design is ideal for videography and not still photography. When I say videography, I mean professional/semi professional video cameras which help stabilize the setup due to their weight. Neutral on the deal because of the product.
