So I bought a lens from Lenskart last week.

Have a slightly negative review to share with dimers..

So I was looking to purchase my next set of monthly disposable lenses and came across Lenskart.

Lenskart has tied up with HDFC smartbuy as well – providing 15% off on valid purchases. Here are their T&C on HDFC smartbuy debit card offers website:

Since the T&C says offer not valid on some brands and “Contact Lens Solutions”, I tried to use the code though in vain.

My Chat experience with their customer service was bad. First guy I came across told me its a website error and told me to try again after couple of hours, quite politely.

So I did, again to fail. The next CSR tells me that this offer code is not valid, please use Contact10 for 10% off.

I asked him as to why this code was not working, he just kept insisting to use 10% off coupon.

They had no answer for the coupon code not working. CSR was rude enough to tell me “This is the coupon that you can use, whatever I have said remains true”

Overall – the experience was Ok otherwise. Not the speediest of dispatches for a ready-made lens – ordered on Oct 9 and got the delivery on Oct 17.

I have been buying products from online portals for a very long time now but this is the first time I ordered something that was precise and personal i.e a spectacle with powered lenses. I asked about lenskart on desidime forums first and with positive review of dimers I moved ahead with the purchase. I had got a new power from my doctor and wanted to try out a new website.

I ordered my glasses on 26th April 2012 and received the product on 2nd May 2012. The website is a little tacky to use as it tried to show a lot of options that they have in one single page, but apart from that it is fine. The images may cause the illusion of the lenses being slightly bigger than they really are so be careful with your choice.

The payment was made in advance. The product was delivered in a very nice box with solid packaging. Very happy with that. The lenses are clear enough and although I have not tested the powers, I feel quite comfortable wearing them so I am guessing they did not make any mistakes there. They have lot of other options for lenses and coatings too but the complementary lenses seem to be doing fine too.

However, I would advise users to not remain dependent on the website for all their optical needs as they depend on 3rd party courier services (BLUE DART in my case) and these may delay the delivery and may cause problems. I would happily use them for buying backup spectacles or even try out getting some sunglasses from them in the future.

They cheated me big time, I paid thru my debit card but the site said the transaction failed. But I saw the money was deducted from my account. I contact the cust. care who said they canot say anything as it is a server issue and will escalate to the technical team. Now after 3 weeks I find they deleted my user account and is not replying to my mails.

As of now I lost my money and cannot log into my lenskart account. I do have proof emails saying transaction failed, mails from the customer care after i complained, screen shots of my chat with 4 different cust. care agents, email containing my username and password deteils from lenskart and bank statement that shows money was deducted thru ccavenues.

Can anyone tell me how to go forward with this issue?

I purchased a pair of contact lenses which were selling for low price on lenskart.
I received the contact lenses and free cleaning solution within 48 hours of placing the order and was extremely satisfied with the delivery.
However, on using the lenses I did not feel comfortable and couldn’t see clearlycry

So I mailed the customer care and was promised a replacement. They’ve some Clarify like tool where you raise a ticket.
The customer care team said that they’ve forwarded my mail to the logistic team and I should be getting a pick up call in the next 3-5 days. They promptly closed the ticket then.
However, that call never came. I raised another follow up ticket (the process is cumbersome) and was given the same response.
However, it’s been a month and my faulty lenses haven’t been picked and I’m yet to receive a refund.

The bottomline is with a purchase like power glasses and lenses, you need a strong replacement policy since you’re not sure whether the product will suit you or not.
But Lenskart simply forgets you after the sale has been made and their Replacement guarantee is a false claim

So I would never buy from lenskart again, I would rather pay 10-15% more and trust my neighbourhood optician.
After all, every online seller cannot be as professional as Flipkart!!

At first I saw the site and was immediately attracted by the low prices. My husband had just got a new power so I ordered for a pair of glasses. I ordered it on 25th Feb. Even on 1st March they had not shipped it. I spoke to the customer care atleast ten times but everytime they repeated the same thing that they will ship it the next day.My husband kept complaining that his eyes hurt but the lenskart people are no ears. Please do not go ahed with the website just by seeing the prices.
