Yeah, food items have been put with double price in swiggy by many restaurants. But didn’t found such issue when ordering through instamart.

Its was done by a reputed brand franchise
Good Morning sir.
Glad you Stopped & moved to ask the real price.
Similar case already happened in Jio Mart & told here also.
This how you make Money 💰💰💰.
"You make money" or "they make money"
Swiggy and zomato these duopolies are for looters who take refund fraudulently only, not for genuine and innocent customers.
Swiggy and zomato give same offers since their launch, but today restaurants came to know about and they are deliberately increasing by 50–100%
Swiggy and zomato only charged 20–30% but this people increasing amount by 100%
Also, if you noticed mostly restaurants are cloud kitchens or specific dish walas like khichdi or biryani makers
few months back I asked nearby restaurant why you increased price so much he golden words said bhai log order karte hai kitna bhi paisa rako but 50% 60% discount dikhna chaiye logo bas
Before Swiggy and Zomato, I used to order from a local restaurant.
Cost of 1 veg thali was ₹130 with sufficient quantity and good quality as well.
Now in Swiggy and Zomato...the cost of same thali is ₹249 + delivery charges + packing charges ... goes upto ₹290.
Now I prefer to go there and dine in sometimes.
I agree completely. I too started offline for foods around my location
Usual reply from Swiggy Zomato for such queries on listed prices is that, they are decided by the merchant and we don't have any role.
However Swiggy Zomato have role in deciding their commissions/delivery charges and merchants have to list their items higher than offline prices to compensate for Swiggy Zomato overheads.
Otherwise no delivery boy would travel 10 km and deliver order for the amount indicated as delivery charges for that order. Food delivery apps are a failed business model and can survive only if consumers are ready to pay extra over & above the offline rates for the comfort of home delivery.
They are targetting rich people only..changed their strategy
For food items since there is no mrp, hence no legal recourse.
But other items with printed mrp can't be sold higher than mrp, you can file a legal complaint in that case.
Swiggy and Zomato are the lead creators right? they should have control on this:) not the restaurants:) so its fault of Swiggy and Zomato for ALLOWING RESTAURANTS TO PUT WHATEVER PRICE THEY CAN compared to their original retail price in outlet (pure scam)
so they can't evade this legally if charged in consumer court
If you will complain, then they will refund the amount. That's it. Nothing is going to change.
They charge same commission to restaurants for MRP and non mrp food items. Restaurants hardly earn 10-15% on branded MRP items, whereas swiggy/zomato charge them at least 30-40% and on the top of that, whenever someone files a wrong complaint with swiggy/zomato for food quality then Zomato doesn't pays customer from its own pocket. Either delivery guy or restaurant is asked to pay for the same.
Swiggy and zomato is never at loss, only restaurant and delivery guys have to suffer.
Also, when swiggy/zomato is refunding you for the difference in mrp, the same gets deducted from restaurant's payout and on the top of that they are sometime even fined. Then they pay 30% commission on the MRP and end up in losses.
Many restaurants in my area have stopped selling MRP products ( packed Ice creams, cold drink, water, dairy items ) etc on swiggy/zomato because of this.
What was the product?
Its usually cheaper to order directly from restaurant, also most of the rest have free home delivery
MRP is applicable only on packaged items. Food prices are different for offline and online customers whether you like it or not. I am not supporting it but it is a fact.
I also found some fault in quantity of order... I usually order masala chaap and from the same restaurant in offline I order in 120 rupees for 1 plate but once I saw "missed you" offer on swiggy.... I thought really swiggy missing me 😄, and providing me 100 rs off. After all the charges(increased mrp+ packaging charges+ surge charge etc) , still it was costing me 100 rs, So I ordered..... But when I got the order, it was nearly 75% of originally offline order. From that day I understood that swiggy shows it to their restaurant at what amount we have paid for it... And then restaurant customised their order specially for such customers.... 😂😂
And now they are even charging PLATFORM FEE with gst which is really irritating @stoptomove @androgame
