Please note:
Accrual of Reward Points on Govt Related transactions with your credit card will be discontinued, with effect from 1 June 2024.
Government related transactions shall be identified under Merchant Category Codes (MCC) 9399 and 9311, on best effort basis. The MCCs are defined by the network partners and are subject to change basis their discretion and such changes shall be implemented basis communication from the networks without any requirement for intimation/information to the customers.
Note : People who need to make tax payments should make use of their cards to earn points before the end the month.

hmm i thought SBI cards never gave rewards for Govt spends for quite some time.. interesting

Truly disappointing! Only thing that made simplyclick worth having.
People who need to make tax payments should make use of their cards to earn points before the end the month.

Got rid of this card for SBI cashback card + a low fee waiver SBI BPCL (for sbi card offers) almost 10 months back
Any credit card in which no annual fee charged?
SBI cards have no policy of LTF from start, but they convert to LTF based on 2 things
a) if you have spent a lot and request from customer care
b) if you have other low tier cards within SBI and request showing that you have other high variant cards and use those more now and the customer care will make the low tire cards LTF that time
hmm well there is LTF cards outside SBI Cards
1) Axis Neo
2) Axis Myzone
3) lot of FD Credit cards
4) HDFC Money Back card (for certain HDFC Bank account holders who wait)
5) AU has ixigo card lifetime
6)......

Or shall ask for a downgrade to BPCL? Already have CB card...
Go for downgrade if you needs card for bank discount offer.
