Are you kidding me? The actual cost is 1500+999 = 2499/- and if you get some offers then it can be reduced to 2k.
This is the normal price

You don’t even have to subscribe for broadband to get it at 1500 anymore. Just fill the form and they will call you daily with the 1500₹ offer😂

From airtel faq
Can I continue watching OTT/online content on the Airtel Xstream Box if I do not subscribe to linear DTH channels/packs?
In order to avail the features of the Airtel Xstream Box including accessing OTT apps and online content, you have to keep your Airtel DTH account recharged with a minimal monthly amount. We have monthly packs beginning as low as Rs 153.

airtel offers are dubious. you should always call their customer care to get the best price. internet has 10 different prices and all of them are more than the one customer care quotes. they quoted around 1750.

i have the airtel internet tv and since it was damn slow, i wanted to upgrade to xstream. the installation guy called and told me that the box needs internet to work and it is an IPTV. also there is no card for it. this put me off. what if internet is gone? sometimes it goes for days.

Sometimes they are dubious but you can check all that in Airtel Thanks app.

You don’t really need an internet connection to watch Cable TV channels on Xtreme box, it is usually used to watch OTT contents and Youtube. If you don’t have internet connection for weeks then install the xtreme box without having internet connection but there should be an active dth recharge to watch your favorite shows on dth.

No FREE channels, if your subscription expires, normally it do not launch netflix/prime or not even youtube, you need to hack it to make it work sunglasses

I have used the Xtremebox for more than an year and then discarded it and shifted to Amazon Fire Cube. Xtremebox support DTH channels through dish connection and OTT through internet. So if internet is not there, channels will still work but if dish is not there, the channels will not work through internet. For OTT to work mandatory monthly recharge of Rs153 has to be done. Coming to usage feedback. The hardware/software is pathetically slow and has lot of issues. It can crash all of a sudden. OTT keeps hanging a lot and we need to restart the box every now and then. Although the box is feature rich but performance is bad. You can connect USB and play movies etc from there (using relevant apps). You can run movie on laptop and cast it on Xtremebox/TV. But then because of performance issues, things will run very slow.
Airtel Internet box is old version of Xtremebox which is more pathetic so avoid it.

i understand the subscription part but even i was surprised when the technician told me that. he said it is iptv and internet is definitely needed to watch regular channels.

i had the same performance issues with that old box. later i bought firestick and simply factory reseted the box. now it works well. the thing is, the more apps you install, even if they are 1-2, the box becomes extremely slow. better dont login to google account only.

I’m using airtel Xtreme box from 6 months and never faced slowness issue but the box sometimes restarting itself multiple times when changing the TV channels or selecting the content in OTT apps. I’ve installed most of the OTT apps and using them, monthly recharging the dth. I’m not sure whether they will return those 1.5k after returning this box if all the T&C followed.
