3) Why is Amazon asking me to complete my customer identification?
RBI regulations make it mandatory for Amazon to collect Official Valid ID document (OVD) number (Passport, Driver license, PAN, Voter ID) from customers, to allow loading of funds into Amazon Pay balance, both electronically and via cash at doorstep without interruption. You can, however, continue using your existing Amazon Pay balance until it exhausts to zero.

4) How can I complete my Customer Identification?
Submit any officially Valid ID document ID number (Passport, Driver license, PAN, Voter ID) to complete your Customer Identification. Simply enter your ID number, no need to upload documents or scan. After you complete the Customer Identification, you will receive an SMS & Email confirming the same. You can also see the ID type provided in the Amazon Pay account settings page.
5) Is my data secure with Amazon?
At Amazon we take Customer Trust seriously. All information shared with us is kept safe and secure as per Amazon’s stringent security standards. Your ID details will not be shared with the Government and will be safely stored with us as part of RBI guidelines.
