I think it depends. You can check many reviews, amex plat travel is one of the best out there in the mkt for the returns.
Milestone itself is an offer, any additional offer is bonus.
Most cards are now reducing domestic lounge access or putting conditions. Amex has actually increased 4 to 8 lounge access a couple of months ago.
For quality and class of service we get, in case we need. At least Iam ok to pay the annual fee. It's totally worth it.

The serving bank for American express in India is Standard chartered Bank, it acts as the escrow account.
