6 useless comments to this post. Why don’t people comment about the deal or the product instead of scratching each other’s backs?

If you want to add something useful you are most welcome.

PS: bro voting up doesn’t require mentioning that in comments but we all do it as encouragement to other dimers and appreciation for a good deal.

Plus each comment we make daily contribute to total number of gold dimes we earn daily.

If we ever want to scratch each other’s backs we can certainly do it privately. wink stuck_out_tongue

lol, was wondering that some deals were lobbying with a certain group. where the deal was nothing great but the same group of people was increasing the reach of a post by comments.now got to know one of the reason behind wink

Just a headup guys. The response time on this one is 8ms. Although, it won’t make a difference if you’re using it for casual use

Right. Because high refresh rate monitors (  especially VA panels) have become more affordable recent times that serious Gamers should go for them.

Most of the time I read comments on a deal to know more about product or brand or any extra payment offer, But all I could see is
VU
HA
GA
Thanks
And all the permutations and combinations of above words.

Exactly! When I see a deal with 22 comments, I get excited thinking that it must be a good one. But when I open it, only 1 or 2 comments are actually about the deal or the product. It’s very frustrating. Moderators should bring in a rule banning thank you posts and vu, kg comments. I’ve been a moderator in an international forum, and they’re very harsh with such posts.

I’m curious If you see a deal with 22 comments what makes you think it must be a good deal?

In my 2+ years experience bad deals or deals with complications ( like confusing TnC or late or even no cashbacks etc) get more comments.

Two three letter comments like “HA, VU , plus1” etc aren’t  detrimental to actually  finding the important comments, so prohibiting them would  makes no sense. No matter how annoying it might be to some.

I certainly have added many “useless comments” by making stupid situational jokes in deals which weren’t even always very funny.

And BTW by definition your own comments have not added anything “useful” to this particular deal. But I do appreciate your options even if it differs from mine. So should they be prohibited too?

Personally, I found most of your comments on threads are useful, whether it’s your review or criticism.
But here I and maybe also ( @TheSniper ) were talking about random spam of this, which is being noticed recently. The number of comments in the thumbnail sparks the possibility of past dimmer review(whether positive or criticism).

But after getting through the number of deals and exploring I think it’s just useless spams.

whenever I saw yours and many other credible dimmers ‘VU’ on the post, I don’t miss to opening the product link, and most of the time deals are very good and I end up buying if it is on my wishlist.

And that is what missing in those spam groups of a bunch of people.

Excess of anything is poison.
Everything is good as long as it’s within limits. Beyond that is just pure spam.
In this case the limits of such posts are not defined and that’s the loophole being misused. And banning such comments is also foolish. Self realization is good enough.

This trend has started recently and that too by high ranked people. New dimers might just imitate this trend and then it blows out of proportion. I wonder what’s the hidden scheme behind this, if there is any? rolleyes

Ok, let’s put it in a different way… Deals with 22 comments… There must be something about it(good or bad).

Agreed with the second one.

No. They’re useless. How many would actually check the deal and vote it up? I’ve seen deals with lots of vu,kg, but the deal is either invalid or the product is trash/oos.

You know very well about what I meant by “useless”.

I’m not here to argue or define what is useful and what’s useless. I know you got my point, and that’s what I intended to convey. Cheers! ??

Yes. But one of the lowest priced 24 Inch IPS monitor I could find.

Unlike other monitors this has Higher screen ( stand) height which brings it to average eye level.

I completed agree with your point. Moderation is absolutely essential.

You guys ( @TheSniper ) have highlighted a point which made me re-evaluate my position twice today.  Moderation is absolutely necessary.

If one topic has over hundred such comments and then it would become very difficult ( a scrolling hell) for  to scroll down to actual relevant comment. But we are far from that scenario currently.

Honestly I don’t know when this trend started, but I little rise in 2019. From then it has been about 4-6 such comment …. Even though DD user base has been increasing steadily.

Such comments might have very little value to common users who views this deal topic for finding good deals. But for OPs ( original posters) who posts deals it has great value. Here’s why:

DD isn’t just another forum for posting stuff. It has lots of social (media) elements. Many here joined for only for finding great deals or monetary incentives ( including me). But many stay here for the Social  interactions.

All succesful social media  platforms are built around the core Idea that positive social interactions give us little bit of Joy ( dopamine hit) even with stranger. Same reason we say hi Hello to people we see  in streets we know or barely know.

To emphasize on my “encouragement/ motivation” point made in first  comment,
Every time we get VU, plus1 ,HA  etc in our posts we get same type of  little  Joy ( of course subconsciously).  Especially if we know that dimer (have man previous interactions) Only Dimes we get for posting deals is not enough to keep someone engaged (hooked) for long.
