Gurgaon / Mumbai: With consumer preference for digital payments growing steadily over the last several years, Axis Bank, in collaboration with Google Pay and Visa, on Monday launched the ACE Credit Card.

The card is designed for the growing base of users keen to participate in the digital economy.

Payments for essential use cases like mobile recharges, bill payments made via Google Pay earn users 5% in cashback. Users also get 4%-5% cashback for spends made on daily use categories such as food ordering, online grocery delivery, cab rides for transactions made on partner merchants’ platforms such as Swiggy, Zomato, BigBasket, Grofers and Ola. There is also an unlimited 2% cashback on all other transactions, making it one of the most rewarding credit cards in its segment*.

The ACE Credit Card is aimed at bringing a seamless, digital experience to users, starting from application to issuance, with the entire user journey for the credit card application being completed digitally. Users will be able to get cashback directly into their ACE Credit Card accounts.

The tokenization feature enabled in partnership with Visa, will allow Google Pay users to use their ACE Credit Card to make payments through a secure digital token attached to their phone without having to physically share their card details.

This collaboration and product construct will help us widen our footprint through Google Pay and broaden credit card penetration, contributing to our commitment towards the vision of Digital India and the country’s evolution to a less-cash society”.

Ambarish Kenghe, Senior Director – Product Management, Google Pay added, “We are excited to work with Axis Bank and Visa, to build on our efforts to bring helpful new features and products to our users. With ACE Credit Card, we are bringing a seamless application experience that is designed keeping the needs of users in mind. We’re hopeful that this simplicity will bring even more users into the fold of digital payments, and help more users get access to credit. Users will start seeing the ‘Credit Card’ option in their Google Pay app as we start rolling this offering out across India. We will continue to refine the product as we get inputs from the users.”

Commenting on the launch, TR Ramachandran, Group Country Manager, Visa, India & South Asia said, “Consumer attitudes towards credit cards are fast changing. This, combined with the large headroom that exists for expanding credit access and affordability, represents a significant opportunity. Today’s digital first consumers expect simple, secure and intuitive payment experiences from credit cards – from application to issuance and transactions to rewards, and in online, in-app or in-store environments. We are excited to partner with Google Pay and Axis Bank to launch the ACE Credit Card, to enable secure, convenient and compelling product experiences for today’s customer.”

How to pay SBI credit card bill via HDFC plat debit card, is it via Mobikwik ?

You can pay through ‘bill pay’ in HDFC netbanking or mobile app.

Another option is through Mobikwik.

5% or 2% or no cash back for insurance payment?

Cashback shall not be eligible for following spends/transactions on the card,
o Fuel Spends
o EMI transactions
o Purchases converted to EMI post facto
o Wallet loading transactions
o Cash advances
o Payment of outstanding balances
o Payment of card fees and other card charges

so insurance payments should fetch 2%

The CC are ill informed. If you are holding existing Axis card for more than 3 months then only they taking the application through phone else one needs to apply either online or via branch. In case of a fresh application also they told to apply either online or via branch

Finally got a CC who knew how to apply for the card. She took the request and confirmed that the card will be delivered within 7 working days.

Main benifit of this card is 2% cashback. If you pay bills using payzapp and ace card so total saving is 7% grinning

Only up to 3k bill, beyond that payzapp 5% is limited to 150 so for a 5k bill you will get 150+50=200 when paying via payzapp using this card while paying same bill via googlepay will get you 250.

why? Is the 1% supercash offer not applicable for HDFC platinum card? I am not talking about the cashback to the card.

I was talking about cashback to the card as that is much more better than 1% supercash(you directly get it in your hdfc bank acc within 4-5 days).

The ACE card offers several cashback benefits, including unlimited cashback of 2% on all transactions, excluding EMIs, cash withdrawals, fuel purchase and wallet loading. It has more rewards for customers paying for essential spends. For instance, currently there’s a 5% cashback on recharges and bill payment transactions, including electricity, internet, gas, and mobile recharge, made through Google Pay.

Up to 25k electricity bill payment you get same 5% cashback on both cards when using gift card method with amazonpay card linked with prime acc. For online shopping axis ace card gives 2% on all sites but amazonpay card gives 5% on amazon(& effectively any site that uses amazonpay wallet balance as a payment option).

Suppose avg electricity bill of 5k, currently best option is to pay via payzapp using 5% cashback up to 150 plus reward points on card transaction. Simplyclick gives 1.25% so that’s 62.5 worth reward points plus you get extra 1% or 50 as cashback by paying simplyclick bill via hdfc platinum debit card so on a bill of 5k you get (150+62.5+50) = 262.5.

Now paying same bill via googlepay will get you 5% or 250 cashback plus you get extra 50 for paying that cc bill via hdfc platinum debit card so total (250+50) = 300.

So for electricity bill payments of 5k per month axis ace card is a bit better than payzapp+simplyclick & for bill amounts more than these it is definitely better. However it is not better than amazonpay card which also gives same 5% via gift card method & same 1% for its bill payment via hdfc but limit here is 25k for electricity bill.

For recharges payzapp is better with its 10% off up to 100.

For swiggy & zomato also amazonpay card is better with its 5% via gift card method plus its usual monthly 20/30/40 off on swiggy.

In short this card is best for those who don’t/can’t have amazonpay card & whose majority of spend is on bill payments.

1. What is 5% cashback on amazon pay card via “gift card method”??

2. “You get extra 1% or 50 as cashback by paying simplyclick bill via hdfc platinum debit card” — how bro? By paying cc bill on which platform will
We get 1% cb with hdfc bank debit card ?

1. there is a loophole where you get 5% cashback on buying amazon gv using amazonpay card on amazon if acc linked to amazonpay card is prime but this was heavily misused by people in the past so nowadays icici have become strict & start cancelling cards of those it suspects of misusing the card. Don’t spend more than your card limit in a month, don’t add gift cards to others’ amazon accounts & don’t use the card excessively for paying bills & insurance premium of all the friends/neighbours/relatives.

2. hdfc platinum debit card(any variant other than rupay) give 1% cashback for bill payments(incl credit card bill payment) using hdfc billpay option with max cashback capped to 750/month/card. HDFC credit cards & some other banks like hsbc, kotak etc are not supported but sbi, icici, axis, amex are supported.

Thanks bro. On the first point, on bills and insurance premium also there is 5% direct cashback on amazon pay icici card ?

As per amazonpay card T&C, nothing on amazon except for usual shopping is eligible for 5% cashback hence the loophole of getting 5% on amazon gv purchase.

How bhai? For amazon you get 5% unlimited on amazonpay & for flipkart you get 5% unlimited on axis flipkart card. I think majority of people majorly spend on either of these sites only & then ace cannot compare with its 2%. Also wallet loading is now dead with paytm adding charges on it via credit card for any amount(I know mobikwik is there but majority of shops in India use paytm wallet). It is best card for those making large amount of bill payments & not having amazonpay card.
