Don’t buy this through the imobile app. I tried to buy fastag form there and transaction failed twice but twice my ac was debited and no fastag was issued. It took me a month to get the money credited back to my icici ac after multiple complain calls and escalations

Why the heck are they having a 5 year validity for these cards? What happens to the remaining balance and the deposit amount once it expires?

A FASTag is valid for a period of 5 years from the date of issuance. The security amount & remaining balance will be refunded at the time of closing your FASTag account.

Upon closing. Your account will be automatically closed after 5 years. If you want the refund before 5 years you may close your account & ask for refund.

So how much does one pay from his pocket while applying for the Fastag in ICICI?
