Agreed.. off topic but related question, what printer technology gives least cost per printed page (mostly b/w text) ?

Probably laser printer is cheapest when it comes to b/w printing.
Inkjet is also cheap for home usage .

No point buying these printers as their refill cartridge cost are more than printer itself. Just buy monochrome laser printer (Samsung or Canon around ₹6K-8K) and it will cost you less than 15 paise per page. If you are bent on buying color printer then choose ink tank printers (Epson, Canon) costing around ₹8K-₹10K and cost will be around 15 paise to 20 paise per page.

not necessarily. it depends. While looking at this printer and comparing color laser printers will cost you much more than you can imagine.

It depends on the type of usage.

Laser printers : Better pages yield per cartridge. But only monochrome (Black and white) is affordable for common usage. Mostly used in office due to print reliability of documents. It means if you spill water or any liquid, the document and its printed information on the page will stay intact and safe. These printers are very fast compared to inkjet ones. Color Laser printers are very costly.

Inkjet printers : These are very cheap printers, instead of lasers, printing is done by nozzle spray. Remember that if you spill liquid on paper, everything will be wiped out (with only exception of special papers/special print quality such as photo paper. Economical ones are their Ink Tank versions. They are long lasting, more yielding and best for students, home arts and crafts work, photo printing, etc.
