Boat is good because of backhand support. Hardware and other things may be same for both. But at this price Compaq is good.

i didnt like boat just because of the announcement - that is really un- necessary
looking for a mid range soundbar (2.1) with wireless SW without the initial announcement. connected to BT, etc is fine. but i dont need a welcome msg!

received it today. i think its better than the boat 1750. voice clarity, esp music.
no welcome message, just announcements when the inout changes. havent got a chance to go for a high music volume, will try tmrw and update here. one downside i felt is the subwoofer light that stays on even when the speaker is switched off using the remote.
buttons on the soundbar is flimsy.
