Decathlon is running the Black Friday sale and the BTWIN Tilt 120 Adult Folding Bicycle is priced at 10k.
This is an absolute a steal deal. Available Online, Store Pickups and To Purchase at outlets too.

The Regular Price for this is 15k.

I had been to decathlon to try it out today to purchase it for a friend and it is an amazing deal. The ride quality is good too.
Amazing purchase if you are looking to cycle in your city for about 50 kms with amazing convenience of a folding bike.

Finally someone actually giving amazing discounts on a Black Friday Sale.

Other Decathlon Cycles also with a price drop:

1. Triban RC 100 at 17k: https://www.decathlon.in/p/8515669/road-bikes/r...
This is wonderful if you are looking for a hybrid going for rides upto 100 kms

2. Rockrider ST100 MTB at 15k: https://www.decathlon.in/p/8535824/mountain-bik...
This is good if you want to go a little bit of offroading. If you aren't interested in offroading, don't purchase this. Go for foldie or Triban RC 100.

As a cyclist, I would be happy to answer any questions from dimers.

Cheers
Vivek

Additional Important Tips:
The following accessories are included in the price of 10k:
1. Front and Rear Mudguards
2. Bell
3. Side Stand.

They are also offering bicyle insurance (from Symbo Insurance Broker) at 99 rs at the store which is another steal deal. The process is completely online by scanning a QR code. I am sharing the flyer with the QR for the insurance below.

I would suggest to order a store pickup rather than home delivery. In this way, they would assemble the cycle, fold it and pack it in a box and you can carry it or even ride it to your home from the store. I am not sure of the home delivery as the cycle may come in a disassembled state and you may have to assemble it. Additional advantage of opting for a pickup is that you can also get the following additional paid accessories with free fitting which are must haves (according to me):

We have fitted the following on the bike we purchased:

1. Bottle Holder and Adapter- Rs 400+ Rs 400 = Rs 800: Fitted on the handle - https://www.decathlon.in/p/8826618/accessories/...
https://www.decathlon.in/p/8385631/btwin/cycle-...

2. Derailleur Guard: Rs 200 -  https://www.decathlon.in/search?query=Derailleu...

3. Carrier (The kids carrier fits this bike - 800): https://www.decathlon.in/p/8355487/car-racks-pa...

Make sure you get all the accessories fitted from the store free of cost. Even if it is out of stock at the store, they would help you with the attachments even for accessories ordered for Pickup from Store in the future.

Hi Vivek,

Thanks for sharing great deal

my height is 6'2" and I am looking for foldable bikes may be because of the carm of taking it in train or bus, usually I ride 50 km, but sometimes 100 too

With my height can I go for this bike?

TIA

Hi Prashant,

The seat rod for the foldie is quite long and I am 5’8’’ and after adjusting it for my height, there was still a lot of room to increase the height.
So i think it should suit you.
I would still suggest going to a decathlon outlet and get a test ride, just to ensure that along with the seat height, your legs are also in the comfortable position.

Please Eli5 everything you know about buying a bicycle. Also I have some lumbar pain, so could you also suggest the type of bicycle that would be most suitable for my condition?

Hi bro,

I don't know about the cycles that may be suitable for lumbar pain and would suggest you to rent out or even try riding some of your friends bicycles and get an overview.
I found the foldie to have an upright position but the main USP is the folding convenience.

According to me, hybrid bikes are the best bicycle for city riding. This again varies from individual to individual.

Most Important Tip before buying a bicycle:
Just analyze if the excitement that you have currently while buying the bicycle, whether it would still be there after 6 months of owning it. If you feel the excitement is artificial, I would suggest to drop the idea of buying a bike and go for walk/runs instead which are way cheaper and easier fitness activities to accomplish.

First cycle looks very abnormal to me

Yes, many feel it is a kids bicycle and looks odd.
But it is a great utility when you wish to ride in a city using the public transport. Amongst all the bicycles, Mumbai Metro Line 3 allows foldies only.

Will the kids aged 8-10 years be able to ride it??

Is it height Adjustable??

Deal Cadet Deal Cadet

Hi,

I wouldn't recommend the foldie for kids.
Foldies have a lot of hand operated quick release levers which can become a hazard if mistakenly opened/closed. It looks as a tempting deal for a kid, I would not recommend it due to the safety concerns.

I live in a small village surrounded by nature and am wondering what would be the best option for me: a mountain bike or a hybrid bike? Should I choose a geared bicycle or a non-geared one?

Also, should I invest in accessories like helmets, knee pads, etc.? How much do these typically cost, and should I buy them from Decathlon as well?

Additionally, could you explain in simple terms (like explaining to a beginner) how to select the right bicycle? I’m not familiar with the terminology.

Since the Black Friday Sale ends tomorrow, I’d like to make a decision quickly. Lastly, I noticed that the accessories mentioned aren’t listed as free on the bicycle product page. Should I contact the store to confirm this before visiting?

Hi,

I would try to answer all your questions:

  1. Mountain Bike or Hybrid: Go for hybrid.
  2. Geared or Non-Geared: Go for a geared bicycle as it would provide good assistance on inclines and long rides. Eventually you would be doing long rides and ride on inclined roads as the interest develops and it is a very addictive hobby.
  3. Accessories: Must Haves:  A helmet is a must even if you are going to ride 1km. Decathlon helmets in the range of 1500-2000 are durable. Insurance at 99 is a steal deal. Other than that, mudguards (basic), bottle holders (399 rs one), gloves (400 rs one is enough), back light (250 rs one), Cycling Shorts (basic ones) are enough. I am using all these accessories and prefer decathlon for accessories as they have 2 yrs warranty even on a 99 rs product. I have also fixed a carrier as it is very convenient for my rides as I don't have to carry my backpack on my back. If you are going to ride in the dark, a good front light is mandatory. This is a nice front light from amazon that I have been using for the past couple of years: https://amzn.in/d/6...GW. Anything other than the above is not a must have.
  4. Which cycle to buy: The are three types of bicycles: MTB: Offroading bikes not great for city rides as you have to put in additional strength due to the big tyres, suspension and frames; Road Bike: For going fast on the cycle and to be purchased if you are going to concentrate on speed only; Hybrid: Cycles with slim tyres and sturdy frames, usually without suspension. Mtb's have no use on normal roads with some potholes and even a hybrid can manage that without a suspension. I would suggest going for a hybrid first according to your height. Go to a decathlon shop and the technicians would suggest you the ideal size. As a thumb rule, the seat height should be adjusted in such a way that it is at the same level as your hip bone. The decathlon hybrid shared above is a nice buy. Go for a foldie if you want utility of folding the cycle only. I won't suggest a foldie for village side riding as foldie is more suited for public transports like local trains, metro trains, city buses and sometimes keeping it in the boot of the car.
  5. Free Accessories: The bell, side stand and mudguard are mentioned as free accessories on the product image too (image attached). The additional paid accessories I have mentioned should usually be available in store but it would be good to call them once.

For lumbar pain cycling is not good, fix the lumar issue with cardio and start building on cycling slowly.

For villages, hybrid is best

Had bought the Triban RC 100, but now I’m having second thoughts. The tar roads here in Kerala are poorly paved and full of potholes, thanks to the constant monsoon. Most other roads are earthen, with loose gravel. I’m worried that with the Triban RC 100, I’ll spend more time fixing punctures than riding.

Haven’t picked up the bike from the store yet—would it be possible to return or exchange it?
