During the ongoing discussions about this pandemic, I have found many bogus posts and advices to fight this virus, that not only amused me but made me thoughtful for the peeps that follow stuff blindly irrespective of the sources. Below are some detailed information about the Myths that can save you from sinking to that sea of misinformation.
Pls add yours
False. Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. Similarly, vitamin C is an essential nutrient that can support immune function. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic or lemon (or other foods for that matter) has protected people from the new coronavirus.
False. There is no evidence that regularly gargling has protected people from infection with the new coronavirus. While this may help soothe a sore throat, this practice will not prevent the virus from entering your lungs—neither will drinking frequent sips of water.
False. The COVID-19 virus can be transmitted in ALL AREAS, including areas with hot and humid weather.
False. There is no evidence that the COVID-19 can be killed at higher temperatures. Drinking warm water and getting enough sunlight may have other health benefits. For example, sunlight is good to get Vitamin D, but too much exposure to sunlight may also lead to sunburn.
False. Taking a hot bath will not prevent you from catching COVID-19. Your normal body temperature remains around 36.5°C to 37°C, regardless of the temperature of your bath or shower. Actually, taking a hot bath with extremely hot water can be harmful, as it can burn you. The best way to protect yourself against COVID-19 is by frequently cleaning your hands. By doing this you eliminate viruses that may be on your hands and avoid infection that could occur by then touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
False. Hand dryers are not effective in killing COVID-19. To protect yourself against the new coronavirus, you should frequently clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand-rub (“sanitizer”) or wash them with soap and water. Once your hands are cleaned, you should dry them thoroughly by using towels or a warm air dryer.
False. Spraying alcohol or chlorine all over your body will not kill viruses that have already entered your body. Spraying such substances can be harmful to clothes or mucous membranes (i.e. eyes, mouth). Be aware that both alcohol and chlorine can be useful to disinfect surfaces, but they need to be used under appropriate recommendations.
False. No. Vaccines against pneumonia, such as pneumococcal vaccine and Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib) vaccine, do not provide protection against the new coronavirus. The virus is so new and different that it needs its own vaccine. Researchers are trying to develop a vaccine against COVID-19, and WHO is supporting their efforts. Although these vaccines are not effective against COVID-19, vaccination against respiratory illnesses such as flu is highly recommended to protect your health.
False. To date there has been no evidence to suggest that the new coronavirus could be transmitted by mosquitoes. The new coronavirus is a respiratory virus which spreads primarily through droplets generated when an infected person coughs or sneezes, or through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose. To protect yourself, clean your hands frequently with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Also, avoid close contact with anyone who is coughing and sneezing.
False. People of ALL AGES can be infected by the new coronavirus. Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus. WHO advises people of all ages to take steps to protect themselves from the virus, for example by following good hand hygiene and good respiratory hygiene.

Can wearing a mask protect you against coronavirus?
1. Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water – possible but not every time.
2. Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask – lol, I can see lots of politician, policemen fail to do so let alone the public.
3. Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water – not possible in a humid country like ours .. sweat will drip from the upper lip and enter the mouth ultimately only increasing the chance of infection.
4. Replace the mask with a new one as soon as it is damp and do not re-use single-use masks – even medical workers are not doing it, then come the warriors ?!! of lookdown and then the public…. point is not possible by many.
5. To remove the mask: remove it from behind (do not touch the front of mask); discard immediately in a closed bin; clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water – possible but how many are discarding wet mask.
When and how to wear medical masks to protect against coronavirus?
1. If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19.
2. Wear a mask if you are coughing or sneezing.
3. Masks are effective only when used in combination with frequent hand-cleaning with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
4. If you wear a mask, then you must know how to use it and dispose of it properly.
In every bazaar or market place and even where our lookdown warriors ( sans medical stuff as they know how to wear mask but they always don’t do it right ) are standing there’s very less social distancing, Improper usage of mask only increasing the chance of more infection by wearing contaminated the mask instead of wearing no mask. Govt. can only tell people to wear mask but how they should do it and even if it possible for most of people to do it in a proper way – who will guarantee it with a mass population like ours ? Point is simple wearing mask improperly ever since the lookdown has increased the infection – this is what I think.

After 10 days in struggling from COVID 19, now I am feeling better. It was a very difficult time but with God’s grace… Finally I’m recovering. I’m from Delhi, but on the day of problem in breathing, no hospital admitted me. So, guys be safe and protect yourself and your family. Don’t go with advertisement of Delhi govt, no one will even bother to ask you. Now, I am in home isolation but no one ask me about my health and all.
EDIT: I got infected in making list of migrants of UP, by the order of SDM. As I’m teacher, so I have to do these type of works.
That’s sad to hear bro. Finally, you have got any treatment or got cured in isolation only? Also, do you have any pre-existing illness/ medical conditions??
Age 31, no health issue…
No medicine is there but as a immunity booster I took following after +ve
vitamin C – patanjali Amla juice
Sodium and potassium – ORS formula
Multivitamin and for Zinc – Zincovit syrup
For electrolyte – 1 coconut water daily
For vitamins- 1 ltr mix fruit juice daily
Immunity booster – Ayush kwath tea daily
Milk with turmeric
Apple and pomegranates
And PCM 500mg daily in morning evening – 10 days
Azithromycin 500mg – 3 days
Dry cough syrup
Steam with vicks
Lots of water – 20 ltr water in 3 days 😂
Still have some mild headache but in good condition…
paracetamol ho ya azithromycin, one should strictly avoid both. neem hakim khatra e jaan. i take azithromycin when my bronchitis flairs up and amoxicillin doesn’t help, it is higher level antibiotic called macrolide and shouldn’t be taken over the counter. recently my doc advised strictly not to take any antibiotic or any flu, cough syrup and drug without seeing him (and he doesn’t charges our family so not that he is after fee), also there are reports that taking self medications specially antibiotics have worsen the cases. baaki jo lala ramdev dukaan chala rahe hain uske samaan lena na lena aadmi ke upar hai.
😊
Stay safe all of you guys
