Value of Marriott points are dynamic given the pricing structure but you should be able to get anywhere between 50p to 150p based on the hotel and seasonality.

Does Marriot Bonvoy points expires? If yes, what is the validity period?

Is the offer valid for everyone or only for those who have received the communication?

I don't think if booked any hotel using points in Marriott bonoy site, any meal wouldn't be included. I don't see even breakfast included in hotels booked via points. If anyone has experience please share.

There are certain hotels that have it included but those are mostly high end. There is a "free breakfast" in the top.

However, I messaged and requested if meal could be added (2 days before reservation date, chatting option opens). 6/6 times they added the breakfast.  Plus 4/6 times, my room was also upgraded.

p.s.- I have Gold Elite tier (came complimentary with Amex CC). But the staff at all Marriott are quite welcoming, so feels like they should add the free breakfast anyway,

2 days before reservation date, chatting option opens on the app. You can chat with the front-desk directly on the Marriott Bonvoy app.

These offers are generally for everyone.

Check your mail, you might have also received a communication. If not, check once with Amex CC.

Account holder names shall match for both, check if they are same

I have an option of Taj Voucher v/s Marriott but still it seems Taj is better for my Amex Plat Travel conversion as it is 1:1 ratio + I will get a 15K voucher for 3 lac spend made in Oct till 15 Nov

Do check the conversion ratio of a few properties before taking this bet, Taj is guaranteed INR ,conversion and Accor is also standard conversion. Variable conversion needs due diligence.

Not really, my family had transferred points from their Amex to my Marriott Bonvoy in May 2023.

Yes it needs due diligence. I did and was able to fetch value of 1 Re/point+. However, you need to be flexible with dates - book the hotels before the flights. They are cancellable though, so I usually book 1-2 months in advance. Sometimes when I feel I wont be able to make it, I cancel and book further in advance.

Also, if you book 5 consecutive nights via points, you pay for 4 nights only. The lowest point night gets waived off.

Some hotels I found good deals on:

1. Westin Himalayas, Rishikesh

You get at 20k points / night instead of 35k INR. (Earlier it was 16.5k points and 40k INR.)

Personal opinion - the property is great for a calm and serence vacation with a good infinity pool and great view but this is away from rafting and all activities. It is in Narendra Nagar, a little uphill from Rishikesh. It is close to Dehradun airport but the taxi union wont let Ola / Uber hover nearby and local taxi will charge you 2k+. DM if you need any details about it.

2. JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort & Spa

23k points/ 26.5k INR

Property wise, I would rate it higher than Westin Rishikesh. However, it is not a touristy place and good for 1-2 days outing if you stay in Bangalore. Highly recommended for a staycation if you stay in/around Bangalore(and have Marriott points). 

3. Le meridien KochiSee google maps for reviews. Booked but cancelled later as plans changed.

5.5k points / 9.5k INR

4. Artiste Kochi (recently opened hotel)

Planning to book 

6k points/ 13k INR

5. 4 point by Sheraton Bengaluru, 

5.5k points

Good hotel, only in case you are visting Bangalore and want to stay around Whitefield area

Couple of Properties in Agra, Indore, Surat, Chennai - available at 5-6k point per night.

In case you are transferring for self use, check for your use-case if you see a good place and then only do the conversion.

The hotels are not allowing me to book a room for 2 adults and 2 kids and getting the below message. How to book a room with two kids ( both below 10)

This property won’t allow that many guests in one room.Edit guests or rooms from your search.

I have a toddler (1.5 years) and was facing the same issue. Since I was sure toddlers are not charged, I booked for 2 adults and went. My stays have been smooth.

I am not sure of the exact age restrictions. Probably call the property via call and ask if there are any charges for kids(specify the ages). If no, just book for 2 adults then. (Extra bed / crib charges may be there if needed).
