Good offer for the people holding SCB ultimate card which gives around 16.5% reward rate and for other SCB card holders also it is decent offer.

I bought 12K physical GVs which gives me 400+1600 = 2000 points on my Ultimate card

If I pay LIC bill payment in Amazon and pay through SC Ultimate above 12K, will I be entitled to get 5X RPs

i never transacted using sc card at amazon
it depends upon how they categorize between bill payments and normal shopping.
if all transactions are shown in same way then you should get 5X RPs

MDR number is the only deciding factor whether the transaction is a tax payments, investments, wallet transactions, insurance payments, utility bill payments..

Now a days payment gateways have separate merchant categories for each bill payment… I think its risky…

This is the second time SC has brought the 5X offer this season. I had purchased Amazon eGV to utilize the offer last month and the merchant is reported as ‘Amazon Pay India Priva Bangalore IN’. It is the same one I get on my statement when I order normal items.

For bill pay transactions, it shows up with a different merchant name will the word utility in it. So, won’t be eligible I guess.

That’s good. Might be eligible then as it does not reflect a different merchant name or gateway.

Now those days are over when banks weren’t aware of product category on merchant
They are acting more like affiliate and fetch all details from merchant
E.g. SCB has offers with Ola and they very clearly segregate ola wallet loads vs Ola cabs rides
Infact Ola shares eligible rides details then only SCB process cashback

HDFC also has smartbuy tieup and they too track transactions accordingly

Still sometimes payment gateway switching gives benefit of doubt sometimes

I have not paid any tax or did any other investment using my SC card so can’t say for sure…He can call customer care & confirm directly from them…SC’s phone CC is working unlike other banks…I had talked to them few days ago about an LE offer…

Seems ur lucky but most of the times they do mention it as Utility payment, I have seen this multiple times when I pay Electricity bill in Amazon using Amex card

Agree, but SC is not showing this in transaction details.

Yes, that is always a safer option. Not using the offer this time, I already used it last time on my card. It is a wait now to see if I get the bonus RP’s.

Have more than enough Amazon Pay balance from Amex offer and the recurring purchases from Smartbuy.

I don’t know the exact conversion value of SC Manhattan points , I think it is 0.25/0.20.

So u can easily get 2% (15points *0.2) if u purchase anything except super market purchase and other excluded purchases mentioned above.
