Keep in mind transfer speeds are not that great on this. Can go as low as 7-8 MB/s

Many devices these days only have USB 3.2 connector. They don't support higher speeds. These manufacturers are fooling consumers with such tricks.
Is it worth taking or not?
Very poor quality, not worth the high mrp and even current rate.

A Strontium 32GB USB 3.0 drive I had bought several years ago from Infibeam does maintain 25-35MB/s Sequential Write speeds consistently(Sequential Reads around 85MB/s if not a bit higher l). It even handled a Windows To Go install fine. It's made up of metal and after a while it can get quite warm to the touch. It's terrible that all these years later majority of the manufacturers are still using super slow flash memory. At the rate SSDs are dropping in price maybe in the future one can get compact external SSDs for not a whole lot more.

There's one more problem with such small drives. The size has remained the same but the ideal speeds have increased a lot. Because of that there's too much heating and throttling. It is best to get a SATA SSD and a SATA-to-USB connector. It might not be as portable but the pros outweigh the cons.

Yes. I plan to do the same. Haven't bought any pen drives in years.
The below mentioned Crucial drive is great albeit in a completely different price league. So compact and yet pretty fast with good thermals.
