Dont buy it. It's low price for a reason. It's having 1230u processor. It's the lowest i5 processor. Spending this much for 8Gb is nuts unless it's apple. The best version is i7 1250u variant. Apart from it, rest everything is fine.

Not a good idea to buy this at this price. Warranty for 3years along with adp costs 7-8k. Lpddr ram is efficient yet not faster than ddr counterparts because of sacrifice of bandwidth to favor power efficiency. And 8GB of RAM at this price point kinda sucks. It has no thunderbolt port either. I really don't know why hp n sell do this to us,? @guest_999

Its got a 9W chip for a reason too, perfectly fits the Ultrabook segment + offers great battery life. i7 1250u is not so different from i5 1230U, both got 2 performance + 8 efficient cores and the same 9W PBP (Minor performance gain due to slightly higher clock speeds on i7). P series chip might even offer 2x performance but its got 28W PBP, runs much hotter and consumer more battery

What u said is correct with regards to 9w, however spending this amount of money and getting a chip which is competing with last gen Ryzen 5 5600 and 8gb ram is something which wud make me avoid this product. 1250u is a much much better processor and will be efficient+ future proof. At this price point better get Vivobook s14 or IdeaPad Pro series.

The product price also includes the OLED touch screen + Pen (costs min 3k separately), so its fair to add 10k to its value compared to competition (Vivovook S14 / similar models) but 8GB RAM limitation is a concern, might be sufficient for low to medium usage needs for now but definitely future-proof

You can extend your budget to 1 lakh. I see. There are tons of good options. Best thing about Envy touch laptops is the Corning Gorilla glass protection you get. But they lack thunderbolt ports on budget segment. Ok, I ll see. There is an LG Gram option for you. @cashif bhai has very rave reviews about it. 🙂

What's your typical usage scenario? If you don't game much and no high end software use, light weight laptops with i5 1230U and i7 1250U are your best bet (without touch screen, you might be able to save couple of thousands)

The problem with laptops like Gram with P series chips (i5/i7) is that under load (say medium applications), the power consumption is limited to 50% in comparison (w/ similar performance) and less heat/fan noise (these compact light weight laptops are never known for having better cooling system). With that said, P/H series laptops are good for occasional medium-high end use (If not for longer duration at a cost of inconvenience and battery life).

PCMark 10 score for i5 1230U is ~4500 which is almost comparable to 11th gen i5 CPUs, more than enough to handle your kind of use. With this chip and 66Wh, battery life should be great (Even better than LG Gram with 1240/1260P + 70Wh+ batteries) but like i mentioned before limited RAM is a con (If you're into bulk tab browsing)

Like i mentioned before, the key problems with ultrabooks / compact laptops are heat/noise >> CPU throttling >> High Power consumption and LG Gram is no exception. If you look at the user and critic reviews for this model, you'll know that LG limited the performance of 12th gen chips (i5 1240p / i7 1260p) making it almost equivalent to U series (on HP Envy 13). You can tinker with the settings (most getting this would'nt even know such an option exists) to get significant performance gain (at least for short period) at a cost of excess heating / power consumption.

About battery life, this model is a big downgrade compared to prev gen Gram (i7 11th gen) but with 72Wh capacity you should get better results compared to other laptops with 12th gen chips (except for those with 1230/5U)
