Already bought one yesterday and one today in morning.
Combined it with cashback offers and got 75cb in one account but got only 25 cb on 2nd account.

One very big con of amazon smart plug, it does not support power consumption usage data. Another major con is amazon smart plug cannot be paired with software outside alexa(no google home/smart life integration). Both of these features present in amazon solimo brand smart plug which is also cheaper without offer/deal on amazon smart plug.

How to monitor power consumption? Is there a seperate app for it?
Frankly start using echo dot and see how it integrated in the family .
When i look back for last 1 year. Just voice commands and no screen is not a limitation.
Even my wife calls good morning and how are you to the device.
Its like a pet, a teacher which gives intelligent answers , entertainer, obedient kid who changes and searches videos by voice.

Not sure why people are mad over these devices when you are being listened to 24*7 by these voice assistants and all your conversations are sent to compant. Its a huge privacy violator device.

last few years I spent a lot on money on smart XYZ devices only to later realize that I could be just fine without them. just another extra thing to charge.
I never charge my smart plug or smart lights. I am not sure how you do come to that thought.
Either you are using them actively or just have them lying around. If you are talking about wasting extra power by using them then I believe you must be getting benefits of their smartness.I can probably list a lot of things which happens automatically around my house, thanks to the smartness of these devices. But as per current times we are going to schedule our outdoor Diwali decorative lights. Yes I know we are spending 5 times the price, but I believe we are earning to make our live more convenient.
I ordered one echo dot and about to get the delivery today,just thinking now after the above discussion whether to keep the product or return it.Please help.
Is it really useful,can we buy it or waste of time,my requirement is for IOT devices connection (for fans,lights etc) and not primary for music as I don’t listen much.I hear comments that we can only switch off the device by getting up instead of shouting at them.Please help if I can keep the item or return it.
