It's not good at all for me. I use local broadband. No fancy apps or OTT is provided by them on my plan (higher plans do provide OTT like SonyLiv/Disney+). If I take 6 months plan, I get the rate at effectively ₹347/month (with GST) with 40 Mbps speed.Ā

Downtimes are maybe once or twice in a month that too for minutes. Using for the past 4 years. This Jio one costs double for 10 mbps less speed. The OTT bundles are good but in DD we find OTT subscriptions at very less prices if we buy from Dimers. Don't know why they made OTT compulsory.

If they had launched ₹399 plan or even ₹499 with no OTT maybe I could have tried.

They also have a back up plan with unlimited 10MBPS at 200. I don't think anyone can beat that.Ā

Local ISPs are a nightmare in tier 2 or 3 towns. They might not even give a connection after collecting money. Jio installed the whole setup in my hometown on the same day. It was done with utmost professionalism and even my mom can use Wi-Fi now smileĀ No one can beat that and they have my respect for that.Ā

IĀ have a 100mbps plan in Bangalore. Comes with STB andĀ all OTT expect amazon prime and Netflix. IĀ have not recharged my tata sky since i got it. It comes at net 1060.

Yes that was my point too. Here in my place 40 Mbps unlimited costs 4000/year. Jio is giving the same @ 8484. With a spare 4484 one can buy any OTT subscription. They should have launched a plan without any OTT bundle

Sadly where IĀ stay inĀ Andheri, Mumbai, I am getting 4-6 Mbps on "5G" on a brand new 5G phone. In other Western or CentralĀ suburbs, Goregaon, Kandivli, Bandra, Dadar, orĀ Thane,Ā Ghatkopar,Ā I am getting a nice 500-700Ā Mbps. In Pune, I am getting 900 Mbps to 1 Gbps on same handset. Unless Jio gets their act together for AndheriĀ East, Andheri West, Vile ParleĀ East and Vile Pale West,Ā I can't get this Airfiber as it will perform similarly slow.

speed and service matters too especially with WFH. IĀ had 40mbps with Hathway at around 500, but it sucked big time. IĀ replaced it with Jio fibre. Not a single downtime in a year. STB provided by them removes the need for a firestick or any similar service.
I am not shifting to any shitty ISP ever. OTT doesn't matter to me at all, but it replaces DTH which again is excellent. For another 200 bucks, it's a great service. An all-inclusive 1060 for 100 Mbps seems like a good deal to me.

my parent have adjusted. little challenging at first but integratedĀ  voice search helps. sonyliv and hotstar are user-friendly once you start watching a web series it will show them on top. believe me it's simpler than remembering channels on dth.Ā  could be 1060 is on higher side but for the reliability and relief it's worth it.

airfiber seems more promising but not sure on reliability as 5g network is unstable in my area

See the stb is basically an android box. The ott app interface is identical more or less everywhere. If you talk about just apps there won't be much of a difference between this and fire stick. As an addition it also offers live tv. You can watch almost all channels. The interface of browsing channels is very different from a regular dth. It will need some getting used to especially for the elderly. The quality of audio and video of channels is better as they are not dependent on some overloaded satellite but the bandwidth. Come what may, a storm or tornado it always works šŸ™‚
