Should i go with this? I only want free trial and would discontinue this service within 30 day trial period. Will i get refund for sure? And one more question – do i have to pay this refundable amount at the time of installation or registration on their website?

Oops, how did you got the contact details of the installation team? Please let me know if they install the white or black router

They still haven’t installed it. I didn’t get any contact numbers, I just filled a form on Jio website and in the next 15 mins they called me. While I was discussing with my parents, they came home, maybe after 1 hr of filling the form.

They sent me a link and asked to pay 2500, seeing their promptness, I said fine and paid the amount. They said it would be installed the next day. This was on 2nd, was supposed to be installed by 3rd. Now they are playing games, everytime I call them, they would say it would be done within 30 mins or they will reach in an hour.

I have complained in Umang app as well but nothing till date.

I don’t stay there so have no other means of getting in touch, had I been there, the scene would have been completely different, they wouldn’t have been able to install even a single Jio Fibre in my community or fleece money.

Go for any other ISP but not Jio. Their customer service is a joke. I have Hathway installed here and I am very happy with it.

Refund for sure ?

You are dealing with Reliance Jio and you are asking ?

The answer is a BIG NO.

People have paid advance and they don’t even have the installation done…..

Oops flushed

My experience has been Very good so far, did registration, and paid on 4th Sep and installation was done on 6th Sep. No disconnections as such! Decent Wifi Range ( Dual Band ).

I paid 1500 for the router which is totally worth for a dual-band router.
Just checked Airtel xtreme not available in my area and BSNL is worst and 3rd party internet providers and charging high will stay with Jio for the time being.

Finally my complaint in the UMANG app was acknowledged and Jio representative immediately called me and said it would be done today.

AFAIK, they have probably installed the white router, not sure since I don’t live where it was installed and my parents are old and technically not sound. They would just get irritated if I ask them random questions. They just said two boxes, one white one black, certainly the router has to be white.
Will be able to comment about the wifi signal once I reach there next week, expectations are low though.

Additionally they didn’t give a demo and my parents are just trying to figure out how to watch content on tv.

Very poor experience, if I have better options in the future , even if Jio might be cheap, would never fall for it again.

Bro white router is dual band having both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency! ( You can confirm by asking your parents to check if they see 2 networks when they turn wifi on. Service might depend on area to area and I hope they improve it going forward! Demand has been very high for Jio Fibre after they reduced the tariffs and giving 1 month trial. My relative also registered yesterday and it will be installed in a couple of days!

As I only took the router, there was not much info I was not aware about!

Yes you can watch with 399 plan

I registered for Jio Fiber and promptly got a call from the installation team.
But I have been told that the Set-top box is only provided if I subscribe for Rs. 999 plan.
No set top box to be provided for the lower amount plans (even if we are ready to pay the security).

Has anyone else faced this issue?

Ask thm to chnge your ONT deivce that is router and give you dual band router blue colour one for free of cost..

I am getting 35 mbps only for 699 plan, I raised the complaint two times, engineer visited and told that for single band router this is the maximum speed i will get.
He refused to change the router and asked to upgrade to gold plan (which i cannot do, i am already on 6 month plan).

Customercare asked to write the details to jiofiber email id and they cannot provide any solution.

I just got to know these from a friend:

  • OTT platforms will only work on their settopbox, so no way that we can use them on our mobile/tablets etc..
  • Prime Video only .. it won’t get you amazon prime service, so a for a prime user this is useless.
  • @ 1.5k per month Netflix standard only (no 4k), you need to pay @ 2.5k per month to get 4K

A kind of FAQ would have been very helpful.

Thanks a lot for specifying.. if possible can you please list the OTTs which will work on mobile/separate devices.. I am keen on Zee5, sonyliv and Hoichoi

Also that means I can use the prime free deliveries without paying separately for prime service if I use the same email on jio fibre. Strange the person who took this doesn’t know this properly then.

What is the STB all about? Like it streams on the same WiFi allowance of Jio Fibre?

What if I use for 6 months only? Can I get 2500 refund or only 1500?

After 6 Months, you will be charged ₹1000 installation fee which is deducted from ₹2500 & u will get 1500 back. But trust me, STB is useless. Just buy an android box of any other brand, if u don’t have smart tv.

No. Not  exactly, all areas under a same pincodes might not have Jio Fiber service.

Go to https://www.jio.com/regis...io

Or use Myjio app … top left corner  button, then select Jio Fiber.

Enter your phone number, OTP, and then pincode, write your address … select your exact locality from the list. That might have a “Jio Fiber ” logo beside it. Then It means your locality definitely has Jio fibre service. Otherwise you have to submit details and wait for the Jio Fiber team to contact contact you. Hope this helps.

It just means according to their database and service ( installation)  records they don’t  know if it’s within a serviceable distance from the nearest optical Fiber ‘junction Box’ where  other end of your  home Fiber connection can be connected.

You should soon receive a call from them about your exact location. Don’t forget to mention  ( if necessary) that only 100 meters away they have installed Jio Fiber.

Hope this helps.
