So funny. I m a simple customer. Found same item at 1900 on Flipkart. Think before taking sarcasm as a way of responding to someone’s sincere intention.

At flipkart, it is 1265/- … https://www.flipkart.com/kent-16058-induction-c...

On top of this
there are significant bad reviews and this is only 1500W while 1800W ones are coming near to this price

Higher wattage need not necessarily mean better performance. I have a Prestige one of 1200W which is not inferior in any way to my another 2000W Pigeon induction

low wattage means higher cook time, how can 1200W equivalent to 2000W one?, may be your 2000W Pigeon Induction is defective, just google for the issue ‘slow heating problems with induction’

Everyone knows low wattage means more heating thereby more cook time. He was talking about quality of the product, not the wattage. An induction consists of 2 things mainly, the copper coil, and the CCB, that’s where the quality lies, not in wattage! We have a Prestige 2000W since when induction cooktops were just being released but never went beyond 1600W for personal needs. But yes, 1200W are low, 1600 or 1800 one should aim for for long term usage.

The product you mentioned to be available at Flipkart @ 1265 seems to be different. There is no GEM in that. The GEM version is in 1900. Otherwise also 1170 was definitely less than 1265. As far as reviews are concerned, only 16 reviews can never give clear picture. Like one buyer has given 1 star for not knowing how to switch on, the other has given 1 star because the product was delivered in damaged condition. As far as wattage is concerned, one of friends has explained it nicely in this thread. It is 1500 watt and seems to be appropriate. Moreover I am going by brand, and has purchased one today. Felt that it can be useful to others and can be posted so did it.

What you are saying is a theoretical matter. But practically I found no problems with the Prestige 1200W induction. Boiling, deep frying no issues. Even if it takes a few seconds more while boiling, but that is barely noticable. In fact we have to reduce temperature while deep frying otherwise the food might get burnt. On the flip side it may save on electricity consumption as well. Then where is the problem? Don’t know what the manufacturer did.
