I need a basic smartphone for my mother.
Uses mainly for calling, sometimes clicking photos and youtube and some apps…no gaming or any heavy usage.
A good camera and battery backup is required.
She is using Redmi 4 for few years and quite fed up with the Ads.
I was considering some Samsung phone in 10-15000 range.
Is this Poco M3 a better choice? Will it have ads or not at all?

Please suggest. I can spend upto 15000 but want her to have good phone for at least 2-3 yrs.

If the phone is running good and the issue is only with ads, try to spend an hour or two, take help of YouTube / guides to remove/block those ads from the mobile.
