I emailed IDBI, who had no clues whatsoever. Right away, they referred me to contact LIC.

This gentleman called me on my personal number. He explained to me about the benefits/difference between their current LIC Cards with AXIS and the upcoming ones with IDBI. He also explained that the details of IDBI-LIC cards are yet to be chalked out, but expected to be finalized by September-end.

This would be distributed by LIC, not IDBI and would initially target high-value LIC customers. And would be LTF.

I post about LIC RuPay card and you guys start applying LIC Axis visa card. rolleyes confused

LIC Eclat RuPay card give 2% rewards per Rs100 spend on LIC payment and 1% on other online spend (will soon update more details).

LIC Axis visa card rewards redeem only on Axis RuPay gift card or Amazon gv (other gv also available and selected products also available)

LIC Axis Platinum visa credit card need 1400 points to redeem on Axis Bank Gift Card (INR. 1000). Now calculate how many % you will get on LIC Axis Platinum visa credit card.

Note – Rs30+ GST charge for LIC Axis Platinum visa card rewards redeem charges. Eligibility (net income p.a.) – Rs.5 lakh.

another Card is Axis LIC Visa Signature Credit Card, minimum 1050 rewards to redeem on Axis Bank Gift Card (INR. 1000). Now calculate how many % you will get on Axis LIC Visa Signature Credit Card.

Note – Rs30+ GST charge for LIC Axis Signature visa card rewards redeem charges. Eligibility (net income p.a.) – Rs.15 lakh.

@abhishek012
Bro, For LIC Axis Platinum visa credit card:
Can you confirm, its 1400 points = INR. 1000 GC?
Considering 2 Reward Points for Rs. 100 spent on LIC premium payments, its Rs. 70,000 worth LIC premium.
And doing that, you get Rs. 960/- worth GC as rewards (1000-GST).

So, that’s about 1.37%. Less than amazon Pay-ICICI, but not bad.

Had it been 2x like IDBI-LIC (i.e. 4 points per Rs. 100) for paying LIC premia, it would be the go-to card.

But, are you sure, its 1400 points = Rs. 1000 GC or 4000 points = Rs.1000 GC ?

In the second case, the card would be worse than AXIS/IDBI’s vanilla cards.

Visit here or download pdf to get all LIC Axis cards rewards catalogue – https://www.liccards.co.in/pdf/lic-cards-reward...

For LIC IDBI RuPay Cards, i think you can directly convert your rewards points to card statement. Initially this card applicable for LIC policy holder, agents, employees and LIC’s subsidiary companies.

@starbearer

IDBI personnel told me to visit my nearest branch to apply for this card, told me that online  applications for this,  or any IDBI card, aren’t done online.

I contacted the branch closest to me, was told that I can apply for it at the branch, I was a bit sceptical based on the tone, though.

I’ll check and confirm further on this.

@abhishek012, thanks for the update.

But, what is the expected net reward rate for LIC payments?

Does this card at all make any practical sense?

I guess, a maximum of 2% NRR as reward points will be provided with ECLAT variant. Other variants yield even less. Besides all, Reward points are always great pain. Conversion rates, devaluation, conversion charge, restricted product catalogues, inflated product prices, minimum points bar etc etc etc.

For the purpose of LIC payments:
Amazon-icici (LTF, 2%NRR in wallet) OR AXIS ACE (paid,2%NRR cashback) / Paytm-citi (paid, 3%NRR cashback) are probably better.

It’s a bit difficult to get these cards. You’d have to go to a LIC office to apply for them. And LIC office personnel are generally clueless about these.
