In that case one can get it replaced at the service center. I had needed to get a Sandisk microSD replaced as well.

You can get the card replaced but the data will be lost. If you have important data or pics of family they will all be lost. Retrieving them will be nearly impossible and you will have to shall out a lot more to get that data back

Yes but it's not an issue for me as I only use microSD cards to store multimedia stuff which had already been backed up elsewhere.
