Been to Mi Home store today and they had Mi Notebook 14 (Core i5 10th gen + 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD) model on display
and these are my findings

Display: Not the best panel i’ve seen but it is better than any of those laptops (acer, asus,hp,lenovo, dell) costing 40-55k
Brightness seemed acceptable (most probably 250nits) and viewing angles are ok..bot good/bad (TN Panel?)

Build : Feels premium, the moment u hold it u will know the difference
Not the slimmest portable laptop i’ve used/tried but it felt very light holding it (1.5kgs*)

RAM Usage : There were no programs running in the background
and the idle free ram is around 4.5-5GB/8GB

Performance : Haven’t checked much but the OS felt fluid..you won’t notice any delay/lag w.r.t browsing and media consumption

Keyboard : Mi Mimicked Mackbook Air KB..looks very similar but did not like the texture // No backlit is a con..if its a priority t o you, avoid Mi Notebook 14/Horizon edition //
Forgot… checking the track pad

PS: Been to Reliance Digital and tested couple of laptops from other brands..
Out of all, HP had the shittiest displays among couple 40-50k laptops
& the best i think Asus Zenbook 13 had it (~73k for i5 8th gen)..On FK there are multiple variants of Zenbook 13 starting from 50k but unsure if all have the same quality panel
ASUS Vivobook 14 display also disappointed big time… Apart from brightness levels and color accuracy, the viewing angles were bad too
This one may be?
https://www.flipkart.com/asus-vivobook-14-core-...
Even Lenovo S340 (IPS*) has a very average display
https://www.amazon.in/Lenovo-81VV008SIN-I3-1005...
S540 and C340 had better displays (C340 better among the two*)
None of the dell laptops below 60/55k had better display (comaprison with Mi Notebook 14)

Overall: For 38/39k effective..this is worth the price
For now..there are no better alternatives at this price (might find few for 5-10k more)
Also if u can wait..Skip this and wait for next big FK sale..you might get a better ASUS/Acer laptop @ ~40k price ( There were a couple last year)
If you planning to get this laptop, do visit nearest Mi Home and test (Display/Keyboard/Trackpad) the laptop yourself (and compare with other brand models you are considering from stores like croma or reliance digital)
Personally i am not so pleased with the Mi Notebook 14 display (as the hp ultrabook i have has much better display and 100nits more brightness) but you guys might like it (Wish i had the chance to test the Horizon
Service Quality is debatable, Mi is New to laptops (Indian Market) and it might take sometime for the Mi technicians to get familiar with Mi Laptops so if you start facing issues within a month..you might get disappointed with the service (Also no info anywhere regarding ADP or Extended Warranty)

The panel used in c340 ,s340 and s540 is same …the only difference is Anti glare coating..Glossy Screen in c340 shows more vibrant colours than anti glare. Mi notebook 14’s biggest drawback is non upgradable RAM and battery backup compared to s340. One can watch 6hrs of videos/movies on s340 at 80% brightness.. whereas Mi notebook 14 user can watch 6hrs of videos at 50-60% brightness on single full charge. Also s340 comes with backlight keyboard and upto 12GB RAM. I think the Mi Notebook is hype and not a true value. It can be a good choice for travellers and bloggers with MX350 option but beginner Gamers and Content Creator should avoid and invest in good Ryzen PC build under 60k. School and college students go with any laptop that comes with MS office license, SSD , Win10, and Backlight keyboard amd IPS display and min Ryzen 3500U / Ryzen 4300U / Ryzen 4500U, Ryzen 3700U / Ryzen 4700U and i3-i5 8th gen and above..

It’s high time that we now start boycotting Chinese goods. It’s now or never situation.

Anyways this is a new entrant to the market, we have a lot of (Non-Chinese) options available like Acer,Asus,HP, Dell and more.

The situation is very bad, India has deployed almost full scale troops and combat units to the border areas and the same is the case with China too. I hope that nothing escalates further but yes the situation has never been so critical like this recently.

Unlike phones you do have a quite a few good options regarding PC/Laptops smile
