The kind of fabricating technologies and mass scale of production and large fabrication units are available in china only at present in the world and only they can produce at such scale . Only boycotting made in china goods will not help anyone . An encouragement and interest to setup manufacturing from individuals and the government alike can make it possible
At present even if a company wants to manufacture say a bluetooth speaker in india they cannot get various components in india so they have to rely on foreign suppliers
My guess its not better overall than echo dot 3rd gen. Probably, may have better low end. V shape sound.

Lol.. You don’t have any idea about technical specifications of these product. This speaker has 2.5 inch speaker unit with DTS tuned profile and Echo dot 3rd gen has some 1.6 inch (not in official page). So this should produce atleast 30% better audio than Echo dot. Echo dot is really good speaker but its strength is portability which it wins over this Mi speaker.
Looks ugly. That $99 Google speaker expected to be in India anytime soon?
