Onion prices should come down due to imports and sankranthi harvest in few days
Bought 1.5 kg for 100 local vendor ( but quality not that great but still ok) . Now imports started coming from Egypt and many other places. Those hoarding onions now have to release them immediately. But bad thing is all these money went to middle men and not to Farmers.
Price will come down to 50rs/kg by Monday.
Buy less.
Farmers are anyway getting nothing. Middlemen are minting money.
Onion selling started for Rs 50 now in many places in mumbai vegetable market.
Further downfall expected within 10 days .Imported and new onions from other parts of country arrived.
