All because of the revised gst structure o.O

increased by how much
If only someone knew subtraction
Any official handle confirming the price hike?
If there is none, then probably it is due to product being OOS..once it gets BIS it will be 17999 again!
As expected..Fake News!
Even couple XYZ news channels covered this news (DT: May 14) just based on the Listed price while the 6GB/128GB variant has never been in stock for a while
// Flipkart is now listing the 128GB variant of the phone at a price of Rs 18,499, which is almost an increase of Rs 500. Poco is yet to give out an official statement //

I think its a new trend of Mobile companies to increase the hype by raising price.
I have been seeing this price since a month at least or probably from April1st, and it was available for Rs15499(after SBIdisc) just before lock down.
Nope!
It was 17999 (After 1K increase on March 30/April 1 due to new GST rules)
and it has been 18499 from May 11..False positive thread
PS: Stats based on a popular price tracking plugin
Most of the new phones are just adding useless cameras to make it triple or quad rear and removing the notch for punch-hole display.
With these minor changes, they flood the market with new models making users think that they are missing out on something and they need to upgrade when they don’t.
I hope the mobile segment hits saturation in a few years so that people can just buy a phone and use it for 3-5 years or longer like they use laptops and other stuff.
Companies are trying to make a point..that they have everything customers are looking for w.r.t changing technology (trying to preserve the fan-base loyalty). So as soon as one company releases a new phone with a new tech (say punch-hole display or triple or quad camera setup), the competitor follows them..even if they already released a mobile for the same price segment with similar specs
Once upon a time..xiaomi used to release only one Note mobile & one Budget Redmi mobile every year
But things have changed pretty soon when honor started being aggressive
Honor 9 Lite happened ..with its success, Honor launched as many as 5 phones in the next 12 months (7S, Play, 8X, 9N, 10 Lite)
To counter Honor, Xiaomi also started being aggresive..launched 5+ phones in 2018: Redmi Note 5, Note 5 pro, Redmi S2/Y2, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A
Now Honor is no longer a competitor & Realme replaced its spot (Both Xiaomi and Realme brands have ~15+ new launches in 2020 itself)
But again..i feel the majority of users (those who have purchased Note 6/Note 7 pro)…would still prefer to stick with their year-old phones & the ones who are only dissatisfied with a particular aspect of a mobile would only upgrade to a newer version
For reference..
Redmi Note 5 pro has 11L ratings on FK
Redmi Note 6 pro has 1L
Redmi Note 7 pro has 2.6L
Redmi Note 8/pro has just 78k on amazon
Whenever companies released newer versions with very minor upgrades, people were less interested compared to Note 5 pro (Major Upgrade + released about an year after Note 4) but still companies continued to do it because of competition
even after several years of hardship and fierce competetion why cant even the flagship android phones cant beat apple in video recording stabilisation and autofocus.
PS I am a hardcore android fan but this is based on actual user experience and youtube reviews
ppl purchasin power has got a hit… at least for middle class who look for budget phones… don’t think ppl buy new phones unless its really necessary…i believe 1 phone shld suffice for 3 4 yrs provided its workin fine
now a days most buyers buy phone not because of need but because of craving for something which their friends or relatives have.
Even features and other videos on youtubes leads to higher sales.
Its like you arent hungry still you are eating because the new burger or pizza is simply too lucrative looking to ignore or give a pass, ultimately leading to wastage of resources.
Common man was starting to enjoy the benefits of high end technology at reasonable prices but the govt had to spoil the party by increasing GST. This is a really bad move and will hamper the growth of nation’s progress by again turning away the large section away from good technology tools.
Bought for 15,500/- (128GB)before Lockdown…😊
Poco x2, how u got at that price, any card discount?
Poco gone mad.
