This is actually a much more insane deal than that. I also got an extra discount worth roughly 1.2k for RBL Credit Card and got 500 supercoin discount to get this at 12.1k. The best fucking Chromebook deal of all time lol

I am too excited to buy this as first investment of my small startup travel company.
That will be our first hardware.
Please let me know if it will work exactly like laptop?
I just need to make regular Indian railways PNR reservation
Any major con/ drawback ?
Till now I am using only mobile for bookings
Sometimes I really need webversions of some websites and PDF editor.
Costing me 15990-3500-500 SC = 11999/-

I dunno about you but the first thing I do in a laptop is to turn off the touchscreen. It’s irritating and not at all why I use a Chromebook for. The power of keyboards for all my productivity needs including browsing, mailing and watching YouTube is why I use Chromebooks. Anything more needs a real laptop.

Non-touch display (very average one too – TN, HD ready, 250 nits) justifies the 15k price tag, this is what i was trying to say.. not that its a pro/con (There are Chromebooks with touch displays @ ~20k)

This could be the worst investment imo.

Get a used windows PC if you really want to get things done.

I think with such niche products… there’s a high probability that users are unaware of their power (lack thereof) and give low rating. But it must be understood that Chromebooks are being used by millions of people across the world and are perfectly capable computing devices for the modern web (which is basically what most people use it for).

Once this is kept in mind, it makes it entirely clear why the device is rated so low.

I do not know if you have already bought this, if not, please do NOT. You’d be served much better by a Realme Tab which is generally 11k odd on Flipkart.

Do you know Chromebooks can run all Android apps nowadays?

Yes, I do. This is just a bad piece of hardware.

Is there any specific reason you think a processor that can turbo to 2.8Ghz is not good enough or is this one of those fear of the unknown thing?

Man, I can write pages on why it is horrible hardware, however, let’s not do that. The processor is 1.1GHzx 2 cores and no one is going to overclock a Chromebook. I had bought my first Chromebook in 2015 and like phones, Chromebooks heavily depend on you being connected to the internet all the time. Even high spec Chromebooks are overall a bad purchase, this one with HD screen, 2 core 2 thread Celeron processor etc, you’d cry if you really have to use it.
