Because if someone is spending ~10k on a phone, considering it's hard earned money for many people in India, it would be nice for them to own a future-proof phone instead of a phone with outdated network tech. Also, many 5G options exist in this category now and they should start coming soon to 6-7k category as well. 5G is the future for smartphones (right now) and you should accept it. Obviously not all the people will start using or get access to it immediately but it's good if you do not upgrade frequently or can't afford new phone every year. This is how it is, 4G was non existent before Jio and after it came there was a surge in 4G phones and this is the next milestone so ¯\ (ツ)/¯ Anyway, you don't have to take it personally, everyone is already aware of the points that you have mentioned.
First of all, I never took it personally because I don't own 5G or any shares is telecom companies, so I don't know why it would affect me personally.

Secondly the intention of my post to prevent people chasing behind 5G phones, which are expensive now even when there is little to no 5G coverage outside major cities. Why should people spend their hard earned money on something that may or may not get better but will definitely be cheaper in the near future?
5G is a trick companies have come up with to make people buy new and more expensive phones.
Also, if 5G is widely available, how many people realistically need 5g? How many stream 4K videos and need superfast internet? Majority of the people need just 4G phones, at least for now. Just buying more expensive lower spec phone because of 5G is a really bad idea IMO

5g might be the future of smartphones, but if countries like UK, US don't have good 5G network even though they started investing into 5G years before India, what's the thought process behind the thought that it will be better in India in the near future? 4G wasn't non existent before Jio - jio made it more accessible and cheaper. 5G is way more expensive to implement and not that big a jump from 4G,at least for day to day use.

And finally, 'this is the next milestones, so why not' is exactly what companies tell you when they sell overpriced 5G phones when the tech isn't accessible to a large majority of the population. Also, if people are expecting GBPS speeds with the 1-2 bands of 5G on sub 10k phones, they are just going to be disappointed. The real 5G is millimeter wave 5G which will only be introduced in certain areas of major cities because it's that expensive to implement.

There are bad reviews on az for camera battery charging and for another issue. Want to buy but thinking if I should or not.

Surprisingly AOSP-based custom ROMs are available for this device. Good price for the hardware on offer at least for tech-savvy users. The A73 cores are from 2017 though. The underlying kernel 4.19 will be EOL'ed in December 2024 but it shouldn't matter much as budget Redmi devices don't see many updates anyway.

5G is a hogwash... 4G speeds were comparable to 3g speeds for many years after launch. Service providers won't roll out properly for first few years.

Why?

Is 5g available pan india right now?

And is 5g as stable and reliable as 4g?

Just because it's supposed to be the next generation of communication technology, it doesn't mean it's better.

Please do your research before posting statements like these.

Of course they won't but I mean when people spend money on a phone, they obviously want a future-proof phone smile

Seems the best option available in this range currently.... kindly advise if there's any.

Videos generally play smooth on most 4G networks... I'm clueless if there's any other advantage of 5G apart from downloading speeds. Only concern is if they reduce 4G speeds to 2G/3G just to promote 5G... 😝
