Redmi 5 Pro has little. Bit better CPU SD636 and 20 MP selfi cam and FHD+ SCREEN compared to Redmi 8.
But for 8k you Redmi 8 gives you quite good value for money.

Note 5 pro is better than redmi 8, it has 636 but i can say that it perform better than mi a2 660.. Camera with gcam is lit. Bb is also good.

I have mentioned that. Snapdragon 636 is better than Snapdragon 439. But not for Day to day applications. Like WhatsApp , Facebook etc.
Only when you consider CPU, GPU intensive applications like Gaming and Video processing/ editing SD 636 ( and Adreno 509) shines.
Main camera is obviously better on Redmi 8 ( Sony IMX 363 same sensor as Google pixel 3, minus OIS)).

5 pro also having sony imx 486 and performance always matters whatever the criteria is!

Redmi 7/ 7A has that too . That’s a really good image sensor. But imx363 is GREAT . That’s why latest Google Pixel has that. SD 439 is little more battery efficient.
If you are the type of user who can utilise the sd636 processing power (over sd439) daily then Redmi 5 Pro is definitely better choice.
