Please suggest some phones having custom roms. One of my important requirement is discreet call recording.

Preferably snapdragon, high battery capacity like 6000mAh, and good display.

Call recording is also must for me. Alas, GoI has banned call recording and most phones now come with Google Dialer or without call recording.
But a hack is available for Redmi or Mi phones, even without rooting or unlocking bootloader. U just need to download Malaysian ROM of same phone and do an in-place upgrade to replace Google Dialer with MIUI dialer which has in-built
call recording. Lot of videos are available on YouTube to guide you. So just go with Redmi or Mi phones for this purpose.
Also look for 5g bands support. Some phones, mostly iqoo, Oppo or Vivo just provide one or two bands & label phones as 5g capable. Realme & Redmi provide 5 to 7 5G bands. U need to have support for all bands as 5G future is still uncertain in India & it's better to be futureproof. MediaTek processors usually provide support all 13 bands.
Another thing to look for is nanometer technology. Smaller the nanometer value, better the processor. In today's era, phone has to have Processor with equivalent or less than 6nm architecture as 5G is battery drainer technology.
Also, in similar vein, 5G phone should have battery capacity of 5000 mAh or more. Fast charging is not entirely beneficial as it degrades battery health in long term. In my opinion 20 to 30w fast charging is more than enough for everyday usage.
Also, one should look for RAM & ROM configuration.  LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage can transform a mid-tier phone into premier one. Most of the phone makers avoid mentioning these values and average buyer just looks for RAM & ROM capacity values. Also in my opinion, Phone should have minimum 6 GB RAM.

Best 5G Samsung device to get under 12k with 6+128Gb memory option, rock solid Snapdragon 750G, good cameras and 5000 mah battery if okay living with a TFT display.

Super recommended for normal use and especially for parents.

I will never recommend NON AMOLED Display phone for parents. Already their eye sight is weakened and this TFT display will add to further strain only. Moreover outdoor visibility will be another headache for them.

VU for the deal though 👍🏽👍🏽

I'm confused with both of these phones also but earlier I'd considered Poco M4 Pro 4G for 9750.
So now which one to get Poco M4 Pro 4G vs M33 5G vs F23 5G?

Go for F23. I am using M33. It is bulky, heating and lagging issues are there.

Exynos 1280 is based on 5nm as compared to 8nm Snap 750 which helps in the Battery Department.
Also on paper Exynos 1280 looks more powerful.

I am facing heating and sometimes lagging issues with my M33 due to Exynos. So I will suggest you to go for F23 with SD750G.

100% agree. If budget allowed go for Samsung A series.  I am regretting my decision to sell my old Galaxy A32 for M33.

My two cents. I have used Samsung phones in past and I do believe that Samsung intentionally degrades performance of its phones, be it in battery or camera department or in UI fluidity. Also OneUI is spyware bloated with with multiple apps. I would advise u to avoid Poco at all if u want to use phone beyond warranty period as Poco is notorious for chip failure and internet is flooded with dissatisfied customers. Redmi phones are well priced for hardware they do offer. MIUI is great for power users who want multiple options without any hassle. But Redmi falters when it comes for UI update. Sooner or later, updates introduce more bugs than to squash them. However Redmi is best option of u are into custom roms. So, if u want to use phone for a long term, I would advise u to better go with Motorola. Even with 6 GB RAM, performance is top notch due to stock ROM with no bloatware at all. Moto has good built quality, good cameras and has improved it's ability to provide updates.
