Okk
If anyone visits branch, please share the experience here.
I called Saraswat Bank in Powai, Mumbai
Call picked up during first call itself – a +ve sign
Asked the person, how to apply for Credit Card. After hearing the customary sales pitch, “do you have salary account with us”, “can get against FD” etc, I told the person that I have credit card from other banks w/o any such requirements!
Hearing this, the person said OK, can apply directly too, just come with the following documents:
1)Aadhar 2) PAN 3) Photo 4) Last ITR or 3 months salary slip

Didn’t got your last 2 points in bold letter AMC 500 then Lifetime free AMC? @abhishek012 how wiseful is it to apply such public sector bank card mere for single offer… how negatively it’ll affect our precious credit report later when we will stop using this card after offer expire or when we deactivate card?

Further update!
Today visited the branch.. Branch person informed me that there is mandate that I need to have a bank account with them else can’t give. Or open a FD and take secured card. I said am using unsecured cards since xx yrs.
Anyways as I have many a/c already was not keen to open another. Also this arm twisting doesn’t work for me.
I said that can open a/c later if like the servies but no requirements now.
BM got involved and had a conversation with her.. I said that ideally account opening is preferred and not a mandate… but the BM said for now it is mandatory.
My take, they were bluffing…because want to get a new customer and account.
I spent few mins more chatting with BM, and left. They have taken my contact details saying will inform if requirements change.
So net net, unless you are willing to open account, card won’t be issued.
PS: I didn’t check about their accounts type, MAB etc.

I can totally confirm each of your statements. I went to the Saraswat Bank bank branch too for the same Rupay Credit Card application. They said I need to open bank account having minimum 5000 balance since the credit card application/issuance charges of Rs 100 + GST has to be billed to the bank account and cannot be paid in cash. I knew they were bluffing, trying to get new customers to open bank account. They guy told me that he needs my last 3 years ITR report and 3 months sal slip along with ID and Address proof.

I reached to their SM team also. After few escalations, got a call from their Mumbai Sales office (am also in Mumbai) and they said that since it is a cooperative bank they need to charge membership fees of Rs 118 to make one a member. And this deduction can happen from account only.
I argued that will give a cheque of this amount separately but they said not allowed.

They said life time free seems 🤔

Well they have made it quite difficult to get this card and its benefits. First you must have a bank account with them, then wait for few months, and then to really benefit from the 20% for first utility bill offer, the bill amount must be at least ₹850 to cross 10K per year spends, otherwise you will be charged ₹500+GST (I am assuming that if you get a co-operative bank CC, you definitely use other credit cards too for other spends like shopping). You get full ₹250 CB of this if any one of your bills is ₹1250 every month. It's a nice offer/good saving though if one of your bills is always of this value. But then @Philosopher said, having to fight for cashback every month would be lame.
