VI Prepaid Recharge @ Rs 279. 14% cheaper than Rs 99 recharge. 90 days service validity. Calls at 2.5p/sec. Rs 279 talktime. 500MB data
I only noticed it this week for the Maharashtra/Goa and Mumbai circles. Other circles may have the same recharge available.
The Rs 99 recharge comes to Rs 99x3 = Rs 297 for (28*3)-2 = 82 days (not 84 days since you need to recharge on the last day to carry over unused talktime + data). That's Rs 3.62 per day.
This one is Rs 3.1 per day and is almost over 14% cheaper. I don't believe that VI allows combo/limited recharges to be queued. With Airtel dumping the Rs 99 recharge recently it is heartening to see VI coming up with an even better recharge.

No sms
No outgoing SMS,then whats use of it??
Many in my family and friend circle keep doing the VI minimum recharge because the numbers are old and we don't want to port out to JIO/Airtel. They all want dual-SIMs for numerous reasons. The VI SIM is primarily used for incoming and OTPs. I also remember going to Kumbalgarh last year where JIO's network did not exist at all!
One does miss out on 14 days of IC relative to the Rs 99 pack and 8 days overall. The 279 pack was made available well before Airtel's daft move.
Edit: Vi ought to have allowed OG SMS in this pack to make it stand out relative to the 99 pack. Stupid management.
Btw Vi is also offering 1paise/sec in 99 plan
No. The 1p/sec billing was hiked to 2.5p/sec months ago in the last price hike.
On 279 we get 279 as talktime. Can this 279 talktime be used to subscribe to data packs using USSD function ?
No. This is talktime balance. It is not main balance.
For those unaware, this plan now has Outgoing SMS facility.
This plan has been silently removed from the Mumbai circle for those unaware. We can expect this plan to be removed from all over India soon. Does Vi allow advance/multiple recharge so that the validity gets added on.
You are right about it being removed from the Mumbai circle and probably being removed from all circles soon. Queuing on VI is very risky. I read through multiple forums and there seems to be no clear and up-to-date answer. Some experienced success, some failure. The odds of queuing working are higher with the unlimited plans rather than the combo plans.
If you have a couple of thousand rupees, the Rs 1799 annual recharge (24 GB data, Unlimited calling, 3000 SMS) is the best replacement for the Rs 99 / Rs 279 recharges in case they are no longer available in your circle.
Wow nice find VU
