Well for people who are only looking for lifetime free credit cards. My best picks for every day usage are.

1. Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card
5% Cashback on amazon shopping
2% on bill payments and all other merchants and everything else what can be done in amazon
1% on all other spends

- Cashback directly credited to amazon pay balance every month. So no useless reward redemption fee like what HDFC charges. And no dynamic reward point to rs conversion ratios. And most importantly no useless minimum reward redemption limits. For this minimum reward redemption limits for most banks with low reward points I wasn’t able to properly utilize my rewards for years.

2. IDFC First Bank Credit Card
1.5% Cashback on all online spends
0.75% Cashback on all offline spends
2.5% cashback on all spends over 20k in a month

- Here also reward points can be directly redeemed against any payment. No burden on buying gvs through reward points and all. No minimum redemption limit and such stuff. No charges on redemption. On the other hand HDFC have a minimum 2500 point limit to redeem as cash.
- Reward points never expires. On the other hand HDFC expires your reward points after 12 months. On the other bank cards first you have high redemption limits then you have reward expiry problem. Basically if you don’t spend a lot. Reward points won’t mean anything to you. Because you won’t be able to redeem it on other banks. Where as here every transaction rewards you. Which you can easily redeem against any transaction you do next month.

My personal credit card strategy is -

Use amazon pay icici for all things related to amazon and offline spends.
Use IDFC First Credit Card for any other online spends.
And as per any other bank credit card concerns. If they give life time free then keep it and use it during any shopping sale offers.
