I bought a TP-Link WiFi Router on Prime Day sale, on 22nd September, 2022 & Amazon delivered a completely wrong product on the same day...Since that day, I am trying to resolve the problem with Amazon but they are only replying with generic & non-helpful replies...

I bought a WiFi 6 router which costs 9k & they sent me 1500-2000 worth of obsolete AC750 router & that too looks like an used/customer returned old item without any label or manufacturing date written on the box...

You can clearly see from the attached screenshot, how Amazon removed my Negative feedback from Appario Retail's profile to cover the seller's scam of sending a cheap item instead of the item which was ordered from him...Click on the photo to zoom it...

I am literally begging them since 22nd September to take the wrong product back & send me the refund but Amazon is not resolving my issue after hundreds of phone calls, chats & social media complaints...

They made me wait saying they will support me even after the return window gets finished but today my return window got finished & this is what they sent to me in the email after multiple times requesting to reply back...

"I'd like to inform you that we had escalated this issue to our logistics team internally.

As per the update, we've received a confirmation that the correct product was shipped and delivered in a proper condition.

Hence, we'd not be able to assist you with a replacement or refund in this regard."

So, they made me wait till my return window finishes & then sending me this...I have already complained online on National Consumer Helpline & on PGPortal site but not sure if they will at all help & how long it will take because I'm sure they are receiving many complaints like this as if you check Amazon's twitter timeline, you can see the huge flood of complaints where many people also complaining that, Amazon delivery people even marking order as Delivered without even delivering or calling the customers...

Anyone raised a chargeback against any Indian company?? I can do that with SBI but last time I had to dispute a transaction, it was an international transaction & it took 4 months for IDFC just to tell me that they couldn't reverse the transaction.. So much protection on a Visa Signature Credit Card lol...

Not sure how efficient SBI Card's dispute system is, as I never had to use it before...If anyone can Please enlighten, it will help...

P.S, I have also removed all my payment details from Amazon & won't buy anything from them if I don't get my money back...We just blindly come on Amazon & buy everything but if we research properly without being blind, we can also get the same items in cheaper rates from other sites...Maybe those sites will not be even 1/1000 as big as SCAMAZON but atleast they will have value for their old & loyal customers...I have mentioned in a thread before that I am facing too many wrong items & damaged items cases from Amazon lately & when I am trying to return them, pickup guys are denying to take them back...I wish I didn't buy the Prime membership just recently...I thought I would get a faster & better service by buying Prime...My bad...

If this issue doesn't get resolved in 30 days or so file a case in consumer court and let it take it's own course. I guess some fraudster swapped in the cheaper model while returning the original router and Amazon will keep selling it until someone decides to swallow his/her loss.

And I am not alone...You can check their twitter timeline...How the hell packages are being marked as Delivered without OTP confirmation?? Then WTF is the necessity/security of the OTPs??

Also is the consumer court you are talking about is the same as National Consumer Helpline or it's a different site?? Sorry for asking this but I mostly complained on NCH & PGPortal before so not sure if there is a separate Consumer Court than the NCH...

yes all the websites can be wrong, as in wrong seller/wrong product sent, or maybe some customer returned wrong product and they sent same to you without checking. but nowadays they are treating their delivery persons as God's. gone is the time when they used to raise complains against them maybe due to associations or maybe that the delivery persons work under a thekedari system their decision is final. now whatever their delivery person say is correct for them. here i have seen delivery persons taking out everything and within 6 months buy their own shop, discussed with @getready paji. @xxxyyyzzz friend got a cpu (or whatever it was) with some component missing. here one delivery person was caught he used to order custom built pcs, take everything out and send empty cpu back. there is also one refund scammer on dd which everyone knows who he is.

I have stopped buying high value items from Amazon/Flipkart. Prefer croma/reliance digital {store pick-up} or direct company stores. They don't feel customer centric (plus no good deals) anymore and banks ka bhi kya kehna

Yes I'm now a verified loser...They ONLY see money...No value for how old, how loyal, how many lacs of transactions made, how much I tried to help other buyers by answering to their questions, Prime membership nothing mattered...

And no...If creating the replacement myself would have been possible, why would I even ask for their help??

I am on Amazon almost since when they came in India & I have never seen this message before,

"This is quite unfortunate...To get a free refund or replacement, contact our customer care.. Meanwhile we will appoint an investigating officer to investigate why you received the wrong item"...

This is what was written when I tried to place the return request myself...Looks like the scamming was PRE-PLANNED during the time of Great Indian Festival as I never seen this before...They intentionally disabled the return system at the sale time so they can do whatever they want & customers can't return items...

Way too many customers are complaining but Amazon is only sending them generic replies...

And yes when the delivery people deny to pickup the returns, I call Amazon & ask Amazon reps to tell the delivery people over the call, to pickup the packages but as you correctly said, the pickup people then call their MALIK or whatever & say, I can't take this back as I have instructions to follow...

Amazon always removes negative reviews from their fulfilled/prime sellers (not just Appario). 

If the received AC750 router is in sealed state, then three possibilities

1. Listing error
2. Mix-up at warehouse (via prev undelivered returns)
3. Scam by delivery executives ( Less likely but chances are there )

This issue needs collective reporting. I faced similar issues before (Amazon sending renewed items for new purchases, parts removed).. initially they used to approve returns easily but now things are complicated. The investigation is obv fake, easy refund processing for first such instance but if such things keep repeating then they are denying refund and even suspending accounts. Contacted amazon supported, wasted 30min-1hr with account specialist on phone (+ mailed ecr/bezos) but they are in no mood to understand the issue and admit the faults at their end (Pickup and warehouse). So, stopped purchasing risky products from amazon and even gave up few minor refunds for undelivered goods (because i'm sure account flagging is nex)

Unboxed deliveries via OTP (like flipkart) seem to be only solution for these but amazon is least interested in doing so

received sansui broken tv   instead of samsung frame tv  ( but in samsung box ) , this happened to me 5 month ago in march sale , thnk god it was open box delivery , but the thing i want to convey here these thing cant happpen due to some listing error  this was deliberately  done by some warehouse guy or delivery guy

File a dispute on email and in writing with bank. Don't pay. If bank doesn't help go to rbi ombudsman.

Same happened with me but i received cheap speaker

Same seller - Appario 

Also Amazon deleted my negative feedback to Appario Retail withing 5 minutes citing it's fulfilled by Amazon and we take responsibility of the order.

Amazon has consistently removed every single negative seller review I left if its their own sellers like Appario, etc.

So, I have stopped writing reviews altogether. They are running a scam.

Follow two things for all online purchase

1. Always take only undamaged parcels 

2. Always make video of opening (when ever let say item is more than 3-4K)

Most of the time culprits are delivery boy or someone in the logistic chain. Such things hardly happen in Warehouse as they keep a watch on people and what they can take out or inside the warehouse.

1. The outer box was not damaged...

2. Delivery people don't allow opening box BEFORE sharing the OTP...So, if after sharing the OTP, there is an issue, they will just ask to contact Amazon for return...

99% of the times, atleast in my cases, they don't even want to stay for 30 seconds after delivering the packages & I always get to hear from them the same thing, "I have lots of other packages to deliver. Don't have time...If there is any issue, contact Amazon"....And they leave even after requesting them to stay for just 1 minute...They behave like they are more busy than the PM & CMs of the country...

Recently there was some news about the government planning to tackle fake online reviews IIRC. Maybe it can incorporate this issue as well. Of course it's more likely to be a half-assed implementation at least in the beginning.

why do u want refund only at first place, you could have asked for replacement which sounds more geniune than asking for full refund and one more thing i do not find any issue regarding leaked package, earlier refund issue were very easy which costed amazon and flipkart very much as customer misused this in high volume which lead amazon/flipkart to review their policy regarding refund/replacement.

I neither asked for refund, nor replacement...I would not have issues with either of these...I want the refund NOW, after getting harassed for 8 days...

When I had complained to them on 22nd itself, I just told them what happened.. I did not tell them that I want a refund or replacement...I just complained & had requested them to resolve the issue...

They did not approve my product review as well...So, they will run scams, delay the returns so that customers return window period runs out, will remove the negative reviews on their major seller's by copy-pasting same lines that it's their "responsibility" & when the customer will try to write a product review, they will not approve them too...

Maybe the warehouse & the delivery people are behind this but that can't explain why Amazon disabled the customer initiated Return system for their major sellers just at the sale time...Sab mili-bhagat hain...Amazon is working jointly with the warehouse/logistics/delivery people to scam the customers...

Completely wrong product delivered in a non-sealed inner box packaging...Ordered on Prime Day sale but got different product...Complained on the very same day but Amazon support not responding & constantly delaying the case...

Use Amazon and FK to purchase items less than worth ₹2000 ...OR whatever amount which you can afford to loss. You really don't have time to run behind these corporations, no one takes responsibility here and you will just make peace with it eventually.

I need to buy low value Chinese items (computer parts,  & Electronic accessories are almost all made in China)  from online & if you guys have noticed it, on Amazon & Flipkart, the sellers mention a fake brand name before the product name if the product is an unbranded product...

This is one of the main reasons why I couldn't return a WiFi card too on Amazon...It costed me 1700+ & the seller had mentioned a random fake brand name & the product came as defective but the pickup guy did not accept the pickup because the seller naturally sent the item in generic box. without any brand name as it was not a branded product...

I showed the photo of the card to the pickup guy from my Amazon app & asked him to match that I am sending the same product but he still did not pick up the product & kept saying, there is a brand name showing on Amazon & on his phone & since the package the seller sent was just a generic unbranded box, he did not pickup the item...

Talking to Amazon did not help in that case too...

This is what they had said to me on the phone "Sorry Sir, I have now removed the verification from your return & scheduling the pickup again. You should now have no issues in returning the item"...

As expected, it was a fake response as there is no such thing they did & the pickup guy came again on the next day & denied to take the package again...

So, I had to suffer loss of 1700 too...

Because of SBI card's 10% off, almost 1000/- save kiya tha sale pe aur khush ho gaya tha ke aachhe price pe mile...Lekin saalo ne c***a cut liya... Now don't know what to do with the product received...My existing router which is almost 3-4 years old is newer/better than the "new" item received lol...

I ordered a Skechers shoe worth 4k, for my father 7 Months back from Flipkart. Seller was some Retail something. Due to size issues, I created a return request and they denied to return or replace it. They even asked me that my account will be closed due to high volume of returns. My account is 11 years old and I returned around 18 orders out of total 634 orders. I didn't said anything. I waited till BBD. Bought a cheap fake 2nd copy of another shoes which was listed in FK for 8k something. Ordered the 8k one, replaced it with that cheap fake copy one, gave the old Skechers to my friend, as it was for around 5k on that time and I sold him for 4k. Got my revenge 🤠 These MFs deserve this. They don't get to take.my hard earned money and threaten me with anything.

Someone posted this photo on Twitter that he had bought a Tissot watch from Amazon & when he tried to claim the official warranty, Tissot official service center confirmed it was a counterfeit watch....And as per my knowledge these highly expensive items mostly sold by their big sellers like Cloudtail or Appario...

I didn't make an unboxing video as I was alone in my house so opening the package with one hand while holding the phone in other hand was not possible as I needed both hands to open the package...

Also there is no option anywhere on their site to upload a video...Only photos could be uploaded...Their phone support also told me to give them photos of the product & packaging alongwith my name & date written on a blank paper which I had done...

I took some photos after just opening it...I had sent them the photos on the same day of delivering...Didn't work...

If paid via sbi credit card then call support ask for chargeback filing. They'll ask you to download a pdf form from sbi card site I think and fill it scan it and upload/email it with all the docs, screenshots, proof etc. Take ur time to file this with proper details.

An investigation officer would decide on this so you have 50-50 chance on this. 

It's the best chance you have.

Trusting sbi card customer support to do the right thing in such matters is like moving out of the frying fan into the fire. They don't even correctly calculate annual fee waiver/milestone rewards of their customers & you expect them to do something in such matters.

They hike the prices by atleast 20% before each sale & give us 10% card discounts lol...

I found this very late that many items (if not most) costs less on the NON-SALE days...These sale days are fraud techniques to get more buyers in a specific period by tricking the buyers into believing that they are getting the items at cheaper rates & they can do huge delivery frauds in these sale periods to make/scam even more money out of us...

not gonna happen due to new regulation this is what happened with cloudtail the best electronics seller of amazon 


The shutdown of cloudtail was prompted by regulatory changes that prohibit a foreign entity running a marketplace as well as group companies from equity participation in any of its sellers or having control over their inventory.

See how Appario is doing the same thing with a lot of people...If you visit Appario's profile now, you can see the below review by a customer & as usual Amazon removed his negative feedback by sending him same crap copy-pasted generic reply...

I'm copy-pasting from there only...

Seller is making a fool of customers by sending completely different brand and specification of the product, waiting for Amazon to complete their so called investigation to get my refund.

This guy won't get the refund too & after his return window runs out, Amazon would send him the same email which they sent me...

Just now my samsung s20fe order was undelivered and refunded. Gone are the benefits of sbi cashback card...2000 coupon on amazon. 500 cashback on mobiles...lol.. Worst bbd sale for me.

In the absence of open box delivery for high value items and OTP delivery, I think the time has come when we must forcibly detain the delivery person and with our phone start to record a video, open the box in front of him. That creates a lot of evidence.

We can't misbehave with them or force them to stay against their will...Mostly the same few people come for return pickups & deliveries as they work in certain areas...

If you try to detain him, next time he will refuse to take return pickups from you & also may cancel your delivery by giving fake reasons like you rejected the pickup, you didn't pickup your phone when he called you or when he came to deliver the package, no-one was there in your home...

Then what will you do?? Your life will become hell as both AZ/FK will trust them & not you...

Just sent the email with all the proofs which I got...But not keeping my hopes high...

When I was uploading the screen recording video, I watched the video & there was a Amazon rep in the chat who had written the below in the chat...

"Sir kindly contact the social media team from where you have ordered the product"
...LOL...

Hasu, gussa karu, frustrated feel karu...Kya feel karu samajh mein nhi aaya tha uss din...This is what Amazon's customer care has become...They talk all the BS of the world without even checking WTF they are saying/writing...
