As average life span increased, it's good news.
@kukdookoo c
Hope the enrollment starts soon and get the card in hand.
These types of Schemes doesnot work properly because of following problems
1. Majority of private hospitals in India refuse to give treatment under these schemes because they argue government give very less money for majority of operations and surgerys
2. Political uncertanity in India new government will come and will gonna change this citing revenue loss and poor scheme
3. Rajasthan state Congress government started similar health insurance scheme "
in which treatment for BPL was free and for APL people premium was rs 850 per family and coverage was decent Rs 5 Lakhs and Rs 10 Lakhs for accidental death, next year coverage was increased to rs 8 lakhs per family, This scheme was super popular but alas in the year 2023 BJP came into power and they stopped the scheme in the year 2024 now portal is closed.
4. Students are paying rs 1crore to rs 2 crore to become doctors and they want to recover their invested money but these schemes give very less amount to doctors and hospitals that is why private doctors refuse to treat patients.
Any idea how to get enrolled into this scheme? Just create an ABHA number or something more? (From people who have done it for their parents)
And the procedure involved in case of any medical emergency/treatment needs?
Why not all income tax payers included in Ayushman Bharat? We pay income tax to fund such schemes. Then we pay health Insurance premiums+18%GST (yes, Insurance is luxury) on that. Then those fraud insurance companies reject the claims citing any xyz reason on the planet. Hardly they approve cashless. Imagine paying thousands per month as income tax. Then another few thousands per month as health insurance premium. And all this to be duped by a fraud company which pays the claim examiners to reject as much as they can.
Meanwhile those who never paid income tax enjoy cashless (mostly no question asked) facility for all IPD services.
Life is a bitch.
To all the people who are asking who are eligible under this scheme.
Let me answer this question..
Mainly this ayushman bharat scheme is coveted by states for all ration card holders. Even white ration card holders are eligible. Earlier only people below 70 years of age were eligible. But now even beyond 70 years age people are eligible to get card.
You can check your eligibility online at- https://beneficiary.nha.g...n/
Just login with mobile number and full all details like state, district and adhaar card number.
Maximum BJP ruled states have made very easy for people to download this card.
You must contact nearest CSC centre if you have any problem.
And for people who are criticizing that it's a sham scheme.
Ask to the people who are benefited with this scheme .
It's a life saving health insurance cover for poor and needy people.
In west people used to spend hundreds of dollars every month to get heth insurance but here government is giving such insurance free of cost.
From life insurance, to atal pension scheme and now this ayushman bharat scheme.
India is progressing slowly but steadily.
A great initiative by the Govt. of India and another step towards universal coverage like NHS of UK.
Some problems with private hospitals over treatment package rate card & long reimbursement delays, just need to be resolved swiftly, both by the Centre & State (60:40 funding).
List of hospitals in your city can be explored by this link
And i am seeing current list .. all good private hospitals are already out from this list in my city .
only jhol ... shaddy hospitals are in this list .
anyone living in westbengal able to use this scheme
Bro, I appreciate you creating this thread so people could share helpful information. Many people will benefit from it. Karma added successfully 👍
No doubt its good scheme. But caviet is with the chain of hospitals, specially pvt. hospitals. If govt. can strengthen the facilities in govt. hospitals so that many can go and use this scheme, it is very beneficial. With pvt. hospitals, they furst ask if we have this kind of insurance and prescribe, operations and pricudures to eat this pie. Just visit any 3 tier and 2 tier cities where they put this board, we acept govt. insurance. Cardiology, opthamology, nephrology, urology ( with prostate etc) are more prone to this.
This kind of scams raise alarmingly and amounts to crores, just like GST scams we see.
So my plea would be to strengthen govt. hospitals,( they are almost in unusable state mostly except a few) and attach this schemes.
That will really be like NHS in UK as someone mentioned. But yeah, netagiri and crowd is more in india than UK.
What is the eligibilty of this card? And does this needs to be renewed. I think my dad had this earlier. Not used anytime, though.
This is a complete sham. Even in the eligible hospitals, experienced doctors don't treat patients under the scheme; only interns are attending to patients. Major surgeries are also being performed by interns, as senior doctors refuse to conduct the procedures
Aaj kal 70+ kon alive rehta hai
Good.
but wondering why they only considering below poverty line? it should be like creamy layer.

Not for me as my grandparent recently got a heart surgery in a private hospital in Delhi and the bill was 3.65 lakh but didn't even need to pay a penny as it got all covered under this scheme
In our city the costliest pvt hospital honors Ayushman card,my friends mother got admit there and she doesn't had to pay a single penny for tests also, after discharge she got Rs 300 for taxi fare to go home.
