If he has a medical store neighbour, you can ask his UPI number or Id and transfer him directly from your number. Uncleji can alsi ask someone trustworthy around his place if he can accept UPI money from you and get cash from him in case of emergency.

Hello, I stay in Mumbai and my maternal uncle (70+) stays in Gujarat. Uncle does not have any child, so I am taking care of him and his expenses. Uncle is not tech savvy so he goes and withdraws cash from branch (Debit Card and ATM also not an option).
If any of you have Bank Of India savings account, I want to know how much does Bank Of India charge for cash deposits made via Cash Deposit Machine into his account? (I checked online but I have found that info online is not always accurate, especially for PSB banks) SBI charges 25.96 INR flat per cash deposit, is it same for Bank Of India too?
I usually always transfer excess amount each time, but lately, due to illness there is unpredictable urgent cash requirements and money is needed like within 30 minutes (so NEFT also does not help at times, UPI is not enabled on his account to prevent any theft).
Please help me out if you have info, highly appreciate your help. Nearby Bank Of India staff did not answer me and instead kept tossing me to different people and I left after getting frustrated. Hope to get some help from dimers 🙏🏻

Not sure about current but 3-4 years ago there were no charges for cash deposit.
I used to do it with Debit card though.

Are you sure about this? I am going to be depositing cash in CDM not in the branch. I can't even think of visiting the BOI branch ever
