If Jio is smart and it doesn’t get on the bandwagon even for a few months, it can get a lot of port-in requests.

Like this point_down may be Airtel/Vi deliberately doing price hike game to overload jio network & eventually Jio has to increase the price to subside the network overload for better service. Jio has to install more antennas & fibre cables.

Right now Jio 1.5GB/84 days plan costs 444 after adjusting 111 cashback. Best to queue up 8-10 plans, doing one recharge per day to ensure full cashback. You will be price protected for next 2 years.

For certain recharges you get 20% “jiomart” cashback which can be used for recharging the same number or for jiomart linked to that number. you also get 10% cashback for jiomart purchases.

20% of recharged amount is for both cashback avail as well as redeem?

Means we can use that full 111cb on next 555+ recharges only na?

Moreover I think we shall get only 88.8cb on subsequent recharge as paid amount (less of cashback redeemed)will be only 444.

How are you guys even thinking that Jio isn’t in cohort with Airtel / Vi! This is all discussed and planned. Only difference is Airtel/Vi has made it clear that this was a price hike, jio will start tweaking their plans to make the per day cost almost similar to the others. Rather than directly saying a rise, they will give you more benefits for reduced validity and we will keep arguing that JIO is better than the rest.

Maybe we will feel that we are getting .5gb data more, but most probably the validity days will get reduced. Some good plans like 129/329/1299 will give reduced benefits or might get removed. Most 28 days plans will become 24 days and 24 days plans become 14 days or so. However some won’t be able to leave jio as they will have good Maha cashback, which might offset the loss temporarily.

Last but not the least BSNL will timidly come into play and start reducing validity days too.

Come on guys, this has happened in the past too (2019 onwards), no surprises. Somehow I’m quite sure.. our saviour TRAI knows everything and their main purpose is probably to make sure we keep giving enough for these telecom companies to sustain (that word in current times mean profitable), see we are being served indirectly.

Finally do remember no new competition can now come in like what Jio did with their free and then rock bottom prices, there is a predatory pricing ban rule. So there’s no way out. cry

These unlimited plans which were enticing in the beginning, slowly proved to be a trap. Now without unlimited, plans of some networks are coming with “no SMS” model.

Jio will always remain cheaper than others even if it increases the tariffs. Even when the prices were not hiked by Vi and Airtel, Jio was cheaper.

It was a promise by Mukush Ambani in the AGM when he launched Jio. He mentioned the plan will always remain cheaper than competitors. And that we have seen for these many years.

I am moving to Jio.

Don’t worry bro, welcome to the club. I am too in jio. But please don’t think that Ambani promised and that’s why jio will remain cheap, they are the best businessman and they intend to raise their ARPU to 500₹ in near future, yes they will along with airtel & Vi.

I agree that jio plans will seem cheaper than the competition. But that will hold true only if you own a single sim and a heavy mobiledata user. Whoever has multiple sims will do the calculations and save by closing whichever sim they had taken latter on, no wonder why Jio has been losing loads of users in the past 3 months.

Also I acknowledge the mobile data boom, but while few years back the poor guys used to Topup with 10₹ a month now has to do 99₹ on other networks and 129₹ on jio for just 28 days validity. I raise my case.
