I want to opt for airtel black combo for dth and fibre .

As when I directly raised query for fibre ,it showed no avaibility but through black support they are saying it will be done .

Can anyone tell your Airtel black plans or experience

Executive telling me that they will combine 998 plan for postpaid sim (1 main and 1 add-on) and fibre plan of 499 (including get 590 )in my package and that will cost me about 1600 from second month to six month and 1800 afterwards. For first month only 500 rs towards installation is payable for fibre .Nothing else for xtreme box or any hardware.

Airtel Service is my area is decent .So thinking of opting for postpaid if value is added in plans as monthly spend towards mobile numbers is 300 each.

Having 1999+taxes for 3 postpaid + 1 DTH + 1 internet( fiber not available in location). It is decent but sometimes there is drop in internet connectivity and the dth set top box gets restarted

I don’t remember exactly but i think there was no charge for the box. As you mentioned, only installation charges were present

Found this in faq https://www.airtel.in/airtelbla...aq

For DTH: This charge is towards the DTH HD or Xstream Box which is non-refundable in nature. Customer will need to pay the charges for all DTH boxes separately that he/she opts in for, as part of Airtel BLACK

On a separate note, there is also the below offer mentioned which I don’t remember when I got the plan

  • Assured cashback of Rs.500/- per new service as part of Airtel Black Rewards

I do not think that just to get FTTH internet, one neefs to get a Telco/ mobile number also in postpsid.

DTH and other services can be clubbed.

Yes, for now some agents in the ‘postpaid’ corporate client desks are also handling dedicated ‘Black’ queries.

Even for detailed pre-purchase queries, one can simply connect to the frontline postpaid agent and then ask them to transfer the contact to the ‘Black’ desk.

I am forgetting it  atm, but there was also a direct way to connect to Airtel Black voice support I think. @panchabhut ‏‏

now they are asking 2200 for extreme fibre box and 1900 for hd box which is non refundable and we can keep box even if we leave airtel .

I will pay that much to firestick lite .Why will someone pay for such non sense locked in box .

When i asked the executive as what is the point of keeping box by paying 2200 if I decided not using airtel in future .The box is useless for me after that .

if there was offer like cash back of 1500 or refundable deposit for box  over subsequent 6-7 months that would be fine as will get my some money back in that way .

yes ,but if we clubbed all three service, there is a cash back of 1500 in billing ,out of which 500 is flat they are giving and 1000 over 5 months in billing from second month onwards .

i can opt out after 6 months or can do retention trick to avail those plans for long terms .

jio is not available in area that’s why going with airtel.

I read somewhere that the airtel extreme box lags heavily..
Also..if you don’t do timely payment.. even free services like YouTube won’t open in Xtreme box ..

I would suggest you to get a firestick or android box..

I’m using Airtel Fibre (499+GST) + Xtreme dth (220) + one prepaid connection (99).

Airtel has offered me to switch to Airtel Black plans but I rejected because they didn’t have a single plan without a postpaid connection and very poor mobile networks at my home. There are no mobile networks at all except for Jio which is very much frustrating.

@vhs.tenali do not have black which in my opinion is useless. I am on old 999 postpaid plan with 4 regular + 1 data SIM and separate 499 copper broadband. Do not see any usecase for DTH and use firestick.

Thank you🙇🏻 sir🙏🏽 for those insights.

The old school (erstwhile CUG type) plans are actually better in many cases.‏‏

Airtel Black is a loot.

STAY AWAY FROM IT

airtel should give bundles plans for cheaper but they charge you more.

Also keep in mind prepaid tariffs were revised recently, so postpaid is next in queue.

yes . It lags for applications like netflix and others . For standard tv it is okay.

i disagree, with OTT taking away business from DTH, if the prices increase then urban ppl will completely shun DTH

With OTT and Smart TV’s around

Now DTH should pay us for using their services…😉

Just curious, what do you do with the data only sim ?

I am using the same 999 plan for about 4 years and i have put the data sim in this LTE router. Tested for few months and disconnected the home wifi. No looking back, works gr8.

180Gb per month with 200gb roll over and no per day limit. With prepaid prices going up every few months, i have started loving my plan even more.

Using data only SIM in portable router as backup for home & while traveling. Have used it with MR600 for sometime as second wifi for my daughter’s online school.Cannot stop the copper broadband as it is used for firestick, echo devices and wife’s WFH and total consumption is around 300-400 GB.
